New to Forum and Potential Future BW Owner

Welcome. My suggestion is that before you do anything else, find out if the dealer charges you MSRP or if the dealer adds money to the MSRP. Some dealers add money to the MSRP. If your dealer does that, walk or run away. Do not do business with them. The add on can be $5,000 or more. I don’t...

Looking at a new CT4-V Blacking - Anyone bought one recently?

Whatever you do, do not pay more than MSRP. Some dealers will rip you off. Find one that will not.

New 6spd 24 CT5 Blackwing from Austin, TX (CEL P0420)

Sewell is well known to provide great customer service. The engine failed about 5 miles from my house. I paid a wrecker service $75 to take it to my house. Sewell sent a truck to get it and brought me a loaner car. Ten days later they brought my car back and took the loaner home. No complaints...

New 6spd 24 CT5 Blackwing from Austin, TX (CEL P0420)

Not certain what “throwing codes” means, but I am the guy whose 22 CT5V BW engine came apart at about 4500 miles. Some internal part failed putting metal fragments in the oil and destroying the engine. Cadillac sent Sewell Cadillac of Dallas a new engine. Cost Cadillac about $50,000. Cost me...

My new 2023 CT4-V Blackwing got delivered today

This may be your first Cadillac, but it probably won’t be your last.

    Panama City, FL checking in.

840 hp? That’s nothing. (Just kidding) There is a Hennessy 1000 HP engine available for the CT5 BW. Don’t know about the mileage. But if you can afford a 1000 hp engine, you are probably not concerned about paying for fuel. I’m satisfied with the 668 hp in my BW.

I have no idea what those packages are, but personally, I would spend that money on beer, burgers and burritos.

Purchasing a CT5-V Blackwing in FL

I had an ATS -V with the Recaro seats. In my opinion, they were not as comfortable as the regular seats and certainly not worth the extra money. I got regular seats in my 23 CT5V BW and they are just fine. Of course, I’m 85, and the only racing I do is to get to the bathroom.

I think that the carbon fiber package includes the seat backs. If you order the carbon fiber seat backs, AND the carbon fiber seat backs, you would subtract the carbon fiber seat back cost because it’s included in the package. At least I think that’s what it means.

Re Corvette. I agree. I had one. Difficult entry and exit. Noisy. CT5BW much better deal.

I wondered about that too. But I am old and not wise in these matters.

Glad to be of service. That’s what this Blog is for. You will love the BW. I did not buy it for the speed. I bought it for the acceleration. I drive the posted speed limit. But when entering the interstate, the acceleration will water your eyes. I got the 10 speed automatic transmission. I am...

Purchasing a CT5-V Blackwing in FL

Sewell Dallas does not charge over MSRP. If your dealer does that and you are ok with it, that up to you. Personally, I would find another dealer. Uncharges are, to me, a rip off. But it’s your call and your money. The dealer in my town, 35 miles south of Dallas, was going to charge me $5000...

Purchasing a CT5-V Blackwing in FL

The only suggestion I have is to not pay more than MSRP. Mine is a 2022. Ordering from Cadillac directly, as far as I know, was not an option when I got mine. Also, I don’t know how the dealer prep and other services offered by dealers would work if you order from Cadillac. I am the guy whose...
