Climate control - fan blows super hard initially?

I noticed this also when I first got the car and think it is normal. I never use auto anymore.

New to forum and BW owner...

Looks great and congrats. I’m in Sarasota. I don’t know about any blackwing-specific meet ups.

CT5-V Blackwing Performance Mods and Numbers

Agree. 1,000 + hp only for bragging rights.

    5BW daily driver

Very easy daily driver. It is a joy. Mileage is ok for an almost 700 hp motor. Mileage would suck if it was a 200 hp motor.

    Summer Road Rally

Thanks for all the replies. Yes, I get the fact that driving these roads without being in a group may be more fun. However, the social aspect of the activity is also important to me as has been mentioned in previous threads. Thanks again.

    Summer Road Rally

I live in flat, boring, straight-road Florida so am thinking of signing up for this "Circle the Smokies" July 24-27 event: https://www.ramblerrallies.com/ Does anyone have any experience with this organization? Good? Bad? Thank you for any advice.

    Track Mode

I’ve been warned to avoid using track setting on the street, especially when the street is in bad shape. Track setting sets suspension at the stiffest setting therefore you risk damaging tires and wheels on rough roads.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Thanks! Looks like for CT5 it only goes through 2021 model year. Anyone order this and does it fit 2022-2024 CT5? Thanks.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

It does look great. Can you provide info on where you ordered it? I’d like to do that for my 5. Thanks.

    P30EF-00 Code

I have had no issues with my car at all - 5 bw, 6 spd 2023 6200 miles. When I scanned the car several months ago I got a P30EF- 00 engine cooling fan speed too high. The code would not clear. Then several weeks later it was gone. Scanned car today and it is back. Anyone know about this...

    5 BW Clutch Replacement

Thanks for the great response! The last time I has a clutch replaced on a car was in the 1990s and the total was $350. I’m pretty nice to clutches and have had cars go over 150k miles with no clutch replacement. Hopefully the BW clutch lasts a long time!

    5 BW Clutch Replacement

Has anyone had their clutch replaced in a 5 BW? I was at spring mountain this week and one of the instructors said the 5 BW clutch replacement parts alone are $8,000. I find it hard to believe the parts are that expensive. Anyone have any experience with this?

    Sport Display Question

The key word here is always. The word used in the original post I quoted. I run rpms above 3,500 frequently when sporty shifting and to red line occasionally. There is no reason to ALWAYS keep rpms above 3,500 for v8 or v6 for everyday street driving.

    Sport Display Question

This is a high torque American V8. There is NO reason to always keep rpms above 3,500. On the street that is.

    Skip shift on CT4v Blackwing

Never heard of skip shift on 4 or 5. 99% sure you don’t have it. Some have complained about the 1-2 shift being stiff when trans is cold.

    1,500 miles service

FYI, I have the 5BW 6 speed and at 2000 miles I had my local dealer change engine oil, trans oil and rear diff oil. I do not track it BUT keep my cars a long time. The maintenance you do entirely depends on how you use the car and how long you plan to keep it.

Spring Mountain car pool Jan 16-18?

Remember the old cop saying about speeding: 9 over you’re fine, 10 over you’re mine.

Spring Mountain car pool Jan 16-18?

I’ll be there Jan 23-24. Looking soooo forward.
