The Germans are all 4 cyl now though, across the board. Even in something as big as the 5 series/E class.

I love mine. That said, I will have a deposit down on a V8 version the day it's announced. It'll never happen, but if they decide to do a "hair on fire" analogue to the M3 CSL and slap the V8 in... it would be really special.

Based on their recent history and the design of the new base 5 series... I am not optimistic it'll look anywhere near as good as the RS6. The powertrain will be absolutely fantastic though.

There is no skip shift on these cars. Second is tough when it's cold. I often just go 1-3 for the first few shifts of the day until I get some temp in the car.

Those look pretty damn good. Did you go with the 8.5 or 9 up front? Website shows them both. I might need to copy this next year.

Consumer affairs department of your state attorney general may be helpful. Will depend on what CarMax disclosed to you though as I don't think it's illegal to sell non-factory cars in most cases. If this thing doesn't have cats/can't pass emissions that's probably your best bet.

Funny, mine was a dealer stock order without the sunroof and I would have liked one had I taken the time to spec and wait. I guess I'm in the extreme minority of people without a sunroof who actually wanted one.

I survived a day at Lime Rock in my 4BW just fine. It's technically 88db, but there was some pretty loud stuff there and I don't think it was an unmuffled day. It's unclear to me how/where they're measuring and I know Laguna is famously strict.
