    Brake squeal fixes….

If a procedure is not in the book, they won’t want to do it as the service writer controls what they do. Even if the mechanic wants and knows how to do something that’s not in the book, the service writer won’t authorize it. So if you are unable to remove the rotors and sand them, find a race...

    Driver engagement? Selling/buying...

Audis are great but really boring now. Go buy the RS4 Cab that’s on bring a trailer website right now.

    Brake squeal fixes….

New pads won’t help if the pad deposits on the rotor are uneven. Get new pads but also take the rotors off and sand them down some.

    Brake squeal fixes….

I’d take the rear rotors off, sand off the pad deposits then rebed them. My 25 4BW does not squeal a bit.

CT4-V 4BW issues the dealer can’t figure out

It could be the parts of the shock assembly that mount it to the chassis. There is some sort of shock bushing on top that usually gets transferred over with a new shock. I had a clunk like that and it was the left rear shock. Also I’d check to make sure the battery is properly secured. It’s in...

6MT folks- Anyone experience this after spirited driving?

Your correct. Not sure if the BW has dual mass flywheel. Also the clutch is considered a wear item, and generally not covered under warranty. So the OP may have to do the old “I’ll take it apart and if I find the flywheel was defective the warranty will pay for it, if it looks like wear then...

6MT folks- Anyone experience this after spirited driving?

Might need a new flywheel and friction plate or get the one that’s in it turned. If that’s possible, in the so called old days one could get a machine shop to lightly turn the surface of a flywheel. Now? Probably not, plus it takes the right machine and skill set.

6MT folks- Anyone experience this after spirited driving?

Not sure how clutch shudder and knock sensors could be related. Knock sensors pull back timing due to bad gas or lower octane. That usually happens a higher speed and rpm, with clutch fully engaged. In my experience clutch shudder is usually due to uneven pad deposits on the flywheel or a dual...

25 CT5 Blackwing - first software update (failed twice) GM 33.00

On my 25BW, it sometimes switches to car play all by itself and keep switching to it even after numerous times of exiting it.

    Cop told

Well yes, I was trusting that the computers would work things out and they did. The E Diff helped quite a bit in sweeper turns in the rain. Plus I used to race motorcycles and learned that the worst thing to do in a turn is to let up too much on the throttle. I was in sport mode the whole time...

    Cop told

So I was going across I68 in Md this weekend Trooper got me with 83 in a 70 zone, in hard rain…only got a warning and told that I was going too fast for the conditions. He was also thrown off by seeing a guy 30 years older than him busting down the highway like that. The 4 BW is a great open...

    5th gen V?

Same for me. In my DC condo building built in 1979, there is no power outlets close to any parking spaces in the garage. Also (Board) we looked into it, and found that we'd have to add in whole new wiring with its own fuse panel to bring enough KVA into the building to have chargers, and routing...

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

Their pad selections can very for producing dust and what temp they need to work. I think I had 1400s on my Alcon kit and when they were cold not much bite. Plus a bit of squeal when cold. So I had to warm them up some to get them up to temp.

anyone have a Z06 and BW? or trade to a Z06?

Well I’m used to high revving engines as I’ve had a few Ducatis and Aprilias along with Kawasaki and Honda bikes. In fact the Z06 sort of makes up for not having a bike anymore, as I realized going 100 plus leaned over in a turn is no longer my thing.

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

Carbotech pads are great. They make all kinds of variations too. I used them on an Alcon big brake kit that I put on a B6 S4 I had.

anyone have a Z06 and BW? or trade to a Z06?

Soon. By next week it will be. Have to move money around banks to pay for it, as it’s Friday and Monday is a holiday…I probably won’t see the deposit into checking till Tuesday. Then I’ll go get it.

I got offered 62k trade in on the 4BW. I thought that was pretty good.

anyone have a Z06 and BW? or trade to a Z06?

I test drove a 2024 today, 2lZ with some extras. Totally different experience than the BW and more than I expected. Did a 5 mile drive but only got to 5k rpm due to traffic. Have to decide if this can be my only car. I think it can. I tried touring mode and sports mode. Just starting it and...
