Chicago chiming in. 50/60/70's forecasted next week! Hoping UPS is accurate with a saturday delivery so I can ceramic them before they go on. Planning to replace pads while wheels are off. I'm done with brake dust.
Nope the 22-5BW did not come with the pad life % monitor feature like your V for some unknown reason at $100k...they do have a wear sensor that triggers a "dummy light" on the dash.
If your not tracking @FLYARMY , NO WAY you need pads with that millage. What you do need a better...
Hi all, its been a while since Ive been on here. Still have my 23' 4BW and I drive the crap out of it. 61K+ miles on it now. Yesterday included an oil change, Green Air filter clean/maintenance, replaced the serpentine belt, rear diff fluid change, cabin air filter change and front brakes. I...
UPDATED:
THIS WHOLE THREAD IS WRONG, Sorry. The ones I posted are not for sale because they are correct for my Steel Rotor car. Yay. But I ordered the wrong ones (for CC) also.....I just had the right ones to begin with. seriously FML...
I've got a #44 vin from MY22 with about 40k miles and no brake issues (of course I've changed the pads and rotors once and brake fluid 2-3 times during the past few years.)
Makes sense, I ran with track alignment and have great tire wear. Nothing on the edges at all. Brakes I did notice crazy dusting but still looks like good pad life (only 6k miles, 2 track days)
Thanks great insight. I guess I just need to get under the car and see
White may be a pedestrian color in some eyes, the devil is in the details and you can see each detail of a beautifully designed CT5-V BW pop against the Summit White....Nothing gets lost to the eyes. Easy to keep clean BTW. Best wishes with your choice, enjoy.
As for the CCB option..... if your...
Do you mean the rotor shields? Not the brake ducts that clip on to the rear suspension?
I've had the big shields off on the front since new, with the little tomahawk shaped track shield installed instead, and both shields off on the back for the last year. I did not put the plastic ducts onto...
Thanks guys. Just finished burnishing them in. Took about 2.5 hours from driving on a 2x6 to dropping it down. Since everything was off, extra time to clean the calipers and wheels. It was literally the easiest brake pad install I've ever done.
I put the Power Stop pads in and they seemed...
3 weeks and very happy with the results. The OCD is back in ck with minimal brake dust after numerous drive cycles and street pulls..
Ken at KNS Brakes is a good resource for applications both street and strip. Great guy to talk too. Learn, and I'm grateful for that!
Carbo Tech 1521 for street...
Stock pads are excellent. In fact, from one GM brake cal-engineer, he's said they've never seen anyone get to the 2nd level of the brake fade message organically. AKA, unless you have 600whp, hoosiers, and are an absolutely maniac you'll struggle to find a better option than stock.
I think this is the second time someone posted a service report with exactly, "THIS IS A BLACKWING." somewhat randomly inserted in the middle of the explanation. - or maybe it was you before. I'm too busy and lazy to go search. (not busy enough apparently, lol)
...trip and the C8 kicked a** on the track (ran 2:29 on the stock Michelin 4S tires, everything stock besides brake fluid, alignment, and brakepads). But, got home, washed the rubber and bug marks off the car, parked it, and slid behind the wheel of my Model S Plaid to take the family on a few...
The C7 Corvettes do not have eBoost brakes or "brake by wire". Brake by Wire is part of the Global B platform (C8 Corvettes and Blackwings). It makes sense that changes in software tuning need to occur if switching from iron rotors and pads to CCBs. There has to be an adjustment of pedal feel...
XP12s are probably going to eat rotors with street driving and are specifically flagged as not for street driving given they need a lot of temp to actually bite and will dust like crazy.
Believe Carbotech advertises all their compounds as compatible so you can flip from 1521s to XP12s when...
The pictures just won't turn out. Really not much to see in the pictures.
In person they have a much more rich or deep quality to them. Here's hoping they clean up easily as that's what really prompted the venture.
What did you use? I used Gtechniq C5.
I've since seen some information about using paint coatings on rims.
The next time i get it out of the garage, I'll grab some pictures!
