    Blackwing Constraints Tracker

Any word on cyber yellow? Has the CF1 availability on the 4BW improved?

CT5-V Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Track Durability

If it were 500 lbs lighter it would be a C7 Z06 :) The 5BW really is an incredible machine, but it isn't my primary track car. Lightning lap uses the Grand Course which really mutes the power advantage and also favors lighter more nimble cars. Here's a video of me keeping up with a 991 GT3...

CT5-V Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Track Durability

The rear pads are separate from the parking brake and I nearly asked the Brembo guy the same question on the tech talk the other day.

CT5-V Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Track Durability

The CCB rotors have both a min weight and a min thickness stamped on them. Weighing them is probably more precise, but they also have to be cleaned using a specific procedure prior to weighing. Realistically, once they start to look pock marked, the outer coating has worn off and it's time to...

CT5-V Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Track Durability

I realize that conventional wisdom is that CCBs don't hold up to track use, but in the recent tech talk with Brembo they seemed pretty confident in the brakes on the 5BW. I thought I'd start a thread to track how my CCB brakes are holding up to track use. My car currently has 8390 miles and...

Can I get your opinions on my front rotors

Are the pads to the wear sensors yet? Did they say 4mm of pad material or total pad thickness? I just measured my pads as I thought they were kind of low and the backing plate is 6mm thick and I had another ~6mm of pad material and it hadn't started wearing the wear sensors yet. Caveat being...

CT4V -BW Track "Capable" versus Track "Optimized"

I’m not sure what article that’s from, but that’s what he told me.

I’ve found the secret sauce (track pads)

I posted this in another thread but figured more folks would find it useful here. I was chatting with someone who is campaigning a 4BW in SCCA this year. He is running the stock brakes with Hawk DTC80 front and DTC70 rears and says they are very good. He also said the Pagid RS29S worked well...

CT4V -BW Track "Capable" versus Track "Optimized"

I was just talking to Heinricy about brake pads and he's running DTC80 front and DTC70 rear with the stock brakes on the 4BW. He also said the Pagid RS29S were good, but couldn't remember what compound they ran in the rear.

CT5-V Feedback For 2024 CT5-V Blackwing HPDE Build

I'm also afraid of having to buy a new set of CCB rotors, but I think their life on track remains to be seen. On the V-Club Brembo tech talk the Brembo guy did say that the brakes on the 5BW were a significant step up from prior CCBs on the vette. What that exactly means remains to be seen...

CT4V -BW Track "Capable" versus Track "Optimized"

I'm also of the mind that you're going to have a hard time finding a better tire than the TPC spec PS4S unless you go with a true R Comp. The 4BW that John Heinricy is campaigning this year is running 18x10 and 18x11 wheels wearing Hoosier 285 and 285 tires. He's supposed to be at VIR this...

    CT4-V What Tires

Only the TPC spec is going to have the specific compounds and construction to the Blackwing which is very different from the normal 4S. There are two TPC spec 4S though, one with and without the foam for noise cancellation.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Doors on both sides makes it super easy to tie down. The side ramp is also for the motorcycle to go in.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Loaded her up in the trailer for VIR.

    Rear Diff Fluid

Yes, I did both. I am also the guy that didn’t do my first oil change until the oil life monitor said to. Follow the manual and no warranty issues with track use.

That’s the perfect color to hide track turds!

2024 Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing Configurator Now Live

I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure out why this site isn’t working. It appears to be that as soon as you select an option where it says it will automatically add other options, then the next option you pick will throw an error and you won’t be able to pick any additional options. A...
