I am not sure I love my 5BW

Sorry OP but I'm not with you on anything but that the 5 feels like a big car. Having spent over half of my 17k miles on a track, all the PTM modes have there uses. And even in my 4BW anything above dry allows throttle oversteer. So the 5 is just more of the same, but you're complaining...

    Texas HPDE and Track Days

AutoX will be cheaper by far, but nothing replaces hot lapping for learning yourself and the car. MSRH is a blast and perfect for sub 600hp cars.

My fault for creating a rabbit trail. My point was none of the reviewers complain about the LF4's power, even when driven back to back with mind bending stomp of the 5BW. The complaint is always the same, the sound. It's not even it sounds bad for a V6 it's always the same, it doesn't sound...

    Non Locking Gas cover?

The engineers said on the 4BW they were going for the best track capable car, and basically blank sheeted it, everything had to earn it's way back onto the car, if it didn't improve lap times it had to be be justified as to how it contributed to the BW luxury track car experience. the extra...

I agree its a tired line. I agree V8s sound amazing, the problem I have is there are NO V8's in the class the CT4V Blackwing competes in, except for the ISF 500. In fact one could argue the ISF 500 is what you would get if the 4BW sacrificed chassis dynamics for a V8. The reality is the LF4...

New Texas Laws make trips to Mexico more Risky

That doesn't change the fact that under this new law, they can impound or seize your vehicle until your lawyer can get it back for you. I'll throw another more likely scenario. You meet up with your local V Club and decided to cruise to a location or do a fun run for a local charity. So there...

New Texas Laws make trips to Mexico more Risky

Yep when I was in the Army I hated being stationed in VA, the traffic laws there were and still are draconian. Here in Texas its not unusual to see everyone going at LEAST 10 to 15 over at any given time.

New Texas Laws make trips to Mexico more Risky

That's really my concern, as the reckless statute is very broad, am I reckless if I wind out 1st gear leaving a Cars & Coffee and some LEO is having a bad day? Should that cost me my ride? If I am at an impromptu car meet and some yahoo starts doing donuts, does that mean they get to impound...

New Texas Laws make trips to Mexico more Risky

Not to mention it is now illegal to OBSERVE a street race or street takeover here as well.

New Texas Laws make trips to Mexico more Risky

Hey Fam, Just so you are aware, as of August 2nd, 2023 these two new bills have passed and are now in effect in TEXAS House Bill 1442 (A. Johnson/Bettencourt) provides law enforcement and prosecutors additional tools to go after organized street racing and street takeovers in Texas and elicit...

    Non Locking Gas cover?

Confirmed the CT4BW does NOT have a locking fuel door. I know the design philosophy was if it doesn't make the car better on track it doesn't go back on the car, but I think I would have voted for this one as an exception.

I like that they point out what happens when you live with the LF4 engine, it's actually an excellent engine in this chassis. It sounds great for a V6 and has a solid low-end, it has very little turbo lag and warms up fast,l yet has a cooling system that is sized well enough that even in these...

Question, am I the only one who.....???

Yep my exact set up except for sound. I let her bark because frankly this is one of the best sounding v6's I've driven.

Question, am I the only one who.....???

You have to think about what the suspension is designed to do and trying to achieve. In a general sense, suspension is designed to keep the the tires in contact with road. A secondary component is to increase passenger comfort by reducing the rate and frequency of road conditions transferred to...

    Hey GM close but FAIL

Hey GM the new Sirrius Cadillac+ Nav is nice and up-to-date but it doesn't integrate with rest of the software the way the original one so nicely does, nor does it send prompts to the HUD. NICE but a huge fail to use. Now I'm inspired to find out where, when and how to get my oem map updated...

Is the EV push too fast and too furious? Ford projects $4.5B in loses for EVs in 2023

I'm hoping the H2 will become the new standard, I don't see EV's as being a long-term viable solution for large parts of the US market. They simply don't have either the range or endurance or infrastructure yet to be viable in places like west Texas.

Question, am I the only one who.....???

Talk about an engaging vehicle to drive, not only does the manual offer the opportunity to row my own gears in the transmission, but I suddenly realize I've been using the mode switch to actively calibrate the suspension in a similar fashion.... There is a construction zone on a highway here...
