I took off the under hood sound deadening on my 4 to hear if there would be increased turbo noises but my theory was proven false. Hood sound deadening goes back on.
I'm interested to see how much the Hennessey Blackwing will cost and how reliable it will be in the long run. Kinda came out of nowhere, though I'm sure someone here with industry connections have known about this for quite some time now. 1000 horsepower hyper sedan. What a time to be alive.
After doing some not-so-scientific testing of drive modes on the street, I can say with certainty that track mode is definitely much more hardcore than a full send V mode. The steering is heavier, the throttle response is sharper, it pulls harder to redline, the exhaust is louder with more pops...
Comments show that bimmer fanboys are happy about these straight line wins after the media has been lambasting M cars for just being really fast, but devoid of feeling and emotion. The Mark Zuckerberg of cars, as I like to call them.
I don't have experience with the SR11 line, but I do have experience with sintered pads on cars with the Carbone Lorraine RC series. They make noise at low speed braking. When they're cold, you can hear the pad and rotor friction at low speeds as well. Just a little, and not very obnoxious...
I feel that track mode is the 'true' high strung track mode compared to a full send V mode, as already stated. There are probably some things in the software and programming side of things unique to track mode because the car feels quite different from a full send V mode. Engine is louder and...
I think the battery needs to be disconnected so that the ABS circuit doesn’t activate if the key fob or whatever gets close.
Speaking of disconnecting the battery, is disconnecting the negative terminal enough? Or do I also need to disconnect the positive terminal?
I have no issues with wireless CarPlay on my 4. In my experience, deleting the phone from the car infotainment and deleting the car from the iPhone remedies this issue. In addition, if you still plug in via cable to the car, the cable takes precedence over the wireless. But if you wait for...
I would not go to a dealership to get an alignment done, even if my car's alignment came screwed up from the factory. That's how more problems arise. There are race prep shops that do excellent alignment work and I only have to take it to said shop just once.
You can put jackstands under the upper platform for extra security. In the never event that it would fail, the platform would just fall and rest on the jackstands underneath.
I bought a QuickJack TLX 5000 during the Memorial Day sale. Finally got it set up and did the first test lift on my 4. I bought the 1.5 inch blocks separately just in case. I lifted via the front pinch weld with a 3 inch block on top of the 1.5 inch block and lifted by the rear brace jack point...
Same. I couldn't buy an auto if a manual is available for a car I'm looking at. Even if I do have to pay a little more. I do understand that some people want to get the best bang for their buck, and an A10 4BW is a ticket to owning one for 'cheap'. Autos ARE faster, but that's not the point of...
I mean, if you are fine with an A10, you can probably shop around for the largest discounts. I've seen them as high as $8k off. For many people, that sizeable discount is a compelling enough reason to buy the A10 over the M6. When discounts this high are imposed, then the cars will sell.
Is a gravity bleed possible with the Blackwings? I don't have assistance, but I certain do have several hours to kill on a Saturday, so time is not an issue. I just need to know if the fluid will flow on its own.
