Help! CT5 2023 no gps or Onstar

Since both of those go through a satellite antenna, I suspect that they share a common problem. I suggest contacting OnStar. They probably have had this problem before and should be able to help. It might also be a software issue. In any event, OnStar would be the first place I would try.

Nice. The gray or silver looks elegant. The 5BW is the answer to the 4 door sports car.

    CT5-V Engine failure

I think you are confusing my experience with the little used Kubota tractor and my experience with the 5 BW. The engine failure and replacement in the Cadillac CT5BW was completely covered by the warranty. Sewell Cadillac of Dallas picked the car up at my house, brought me a loaner, replaced...

    CT5-V Engine failure

I have no complaints with the new engine. Of course, I didn’t have any complaints about the original engine until it went “Tango Uniform”.

    CT5-V Engine failure

My dealer contact was through the sales rep, who told me that there were several others who had similar (engine failure) problems. She didn’t go into details. I got the impression that they didn’t want to advertise it. There is no telling about the level of quality control in the subcontractors...

    CT5-V Engine failure

All I knew about my 5BW engine failure was that some internal part or parts failed and the oil distributed metal fragments throughout the engine.

    Potential new owner

The biggest advantage that the 5BW has over the 4BW is cabin size.

    I suppose so but I didn’t.

    CT5-V Engine failure

The $75 was only because I wanted to take the car to my house. If I had wanted to wait for the dealership to send a wrecker from Dallas, I would not have had to pay anything. I think there was a total cost somewhere in the paperwork but I don’t remember the exact amount. It was about $50,000...

    CT5-V Engine failure

The battery and starter were toast because… ok, I’ll start from the beginning. I was driving along. Cruse control was engaged at 55. All was right with the world. Then the car started to slow down. My first thought was that the cruise control had disengaged. As luck would have it there was a...

Probably a good idea. Like chicken soup for a dying man, “It couldn’t hurt”

    CT5-V Engine failure

Good luck. I hope you are successful. If not, a conversation with a local TV station would probably get their attention. FYI. Sewell has a reputation for excellent customer service.

    CT5-V Engine failure

The replacement engine was built by the same company that built the first one. All Sewell did was install the new one. They must have done it correctly because I have not had any problems with it. I got a personalized TX plate. 0260N4S. Zero to 60 in 4 seconds.

    CT5-V Engine failure

I flew for and retired from American Airlines, after 32 years. Plus 8 years in the AF flying the B-52. Airline was a better deal. With the airline, the only person shooting at you is the occasional jealous husband. (Airline joke). Don’t fly anymore. I will be 86 in May. 40 + years of messing...

    CT5-V Engine failure

The car was still under warranty. The oil was the oil put in by the factory. Sewell Cadillac of Dallas, ordered a new engine from Cadillac. The Sewell mechanics, removed the engine and installed the new one. I assume Cadillac had to eat the cost of the removal and installation. I don’t remember...

New member and hopefully owner from Nashville area!

Welcome. Lots of nice people here. I have a 22 CT5V BW. The only recommendation I can offer is that when you accelerate, do it smoothly because if you “stomp down” on it, it will try to swap ends with you. (Translation: For those not from the south, “stomp down” means to apply pressure to the...
