I just have to say that after a week of ownership this car has grown on me exponentially. Coming from a light weight GTI I was skeptical of the merits of a much heavier and larger car. This thing is so addictive to drive and has endless engagement. The instant torque, fantastic manual...
Agree. Watching some of the early reviews I kept hearing this was going to be limited to a year or two and a few hundred units would be built. Maybe I misunderstood or something changed.
So still no alternatives available for a more low key spoiler? Would hope that something aftermarket would become available, but it's a low volume car, so maybe not.
Great contrast with the black trim and accents. The GTI seems less appealing now. I find myself looking for excuses to go for a drive lol. Can’t imagine how much better it will be when I can push it after break in.
The shifter is good. I modded my GTI with a short shifter, brass bushings, and custom heavy weight lever. Compared to the BW it has a very satisfying mechanical engagement that the BW doesn't have. Just curious if anyone here has tweaked theirs setup?
I drove it again today and it was great. No issues at all...guess I needed to get used to it and the car must have been idle for a long time when I drove it the other day. I brought it home :)
On a side note...pictures do not do this car justice. It looks so much better in person.
I happened to find a spec I like at the local dealership that became available after someone canceled their order. I want to purchase it and got to take it for a short drive, but a lot of traffic around since close to rush hour. Coming from a GTI I found the clutch to have much longer travel...
I test drove a manual today and the transmission did not feel great. Couldn’t get the gear changes to stick and felt like the synchros were off. New car someone ordered and decided not to purchase. Wonder if this is the same issue described by the OP.
