The President of Carbotech was very forthcoming about the pad backs with space for sensors. He asked me to send him a tracing of the 4BW backing plates with sensor cutouts, which I did. First he confirmed that the tracing showed the 4BW pads were indeed the same general pads as the ATS-V but...
Which brand of pads did you order? I have used the PowerStop Z26s on my ATS-V and now on the 4BW and used the Carbotech 1521s on my C7Z06. Both worked well for my all street driven cars.
I can't help on the 5BW but on the 4BW the lack of pad choices is simply because the pad mfgs haven't started to mfg pads with the cutout for the sensor. I used the same pads I used for my C7Z06 (Carbotech 1521) and my ATS-V (Powerstop Z26) and simply tied off the sensor. Figure out what size...
Corvette is rolling out their retrofit for the Rear Parking Sensors most of us didn't get. Can Cadillac be far behind?

The T-5 was made by BW in the US. The T-56 was made by BW in the US until the production was moved to Mexico (Tremec) in 1998. Same box and design just different mfg location. I had to have my T-56 in my 98 Camaro rebuilt twice simply due to production teething problems with the new...
I did receive an information packet from them but it was after I bought the Z06 in 2016. I did not receive anything after I bought the ATS-V in 2018 nor have I yet on this car. Maybe that is a Corvette School thing.
The instructors will stay ahead of you no matter what lap times you turn and they will do it likely with a passenger and while watching you in the rear view mirror and talking to you on the radio. And they will do it while in a Camaro if you are at the Corvette School in a Z06 or while in a...
Personally I am pleased they are using the East Loop for the V Academy. I have done the West loop in 2019 for the V Academy but did the East Loop in 2017 for the Corvette School.
My thoughts on East Loop. The three keys to the East Loop are 1) once you turn in and get through Turn 1 you...
I replaced the OEM pads at about 600 miles with Z26 PowerStops for dusting purposes and I have not had this problem. However I park in a level garage and have an automatic, that likely has never had the parking brake on. Are the pad outlines the brake pad or the parking brake outline?
For any autocross aficionados going April 3/4 the SCCA Solo2 National Tour in Mar 31-Apr 2 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I may go early and see if there is anybody I know from the old days still running competitively nationally.
From the pictures Tall Steve posted it appears they were using the Section out to the East. We used that section at the Corvette School in 2017 but used the full return rather than the truncated return it appears they were describing. Most of the videos I have seen for the recent V Academies...
It turns out the mirror stalk does articulate at the window end. It is tough to turn but mine is canted and I was able to get it back to straight with some effort. So mine was just delivered canted to the right. Now it is straight. I have already used adhesive to put the dash cam up but...
Most interesting. I used it on my ATS-V but the mirror mount on my 4BW is canted about 30 degrees to the right of the centerline of the car. I would use it for a dashcam and that wouldn't give me the coverage I want. I don't think the mount will articulate where it is attached to the...
I have a blendmount that I used for my Dashcam in my ATS-V. It won't work on the 4BW. It requires a mirror mount that runs down the center axis of the car to work and apparently it does for the 5BW folks but in the 4BW that mount is canted so you can't get the mount squared up to the front.
I bought the set shown above and use it often. If you are going to get at your battery you certainly will use most of them. To pull that side stiff liner you need to pull the trunk edge protector and it has 4 of those metal clips as well as two bolts under the tie downs and the liner has 2 of...
I use SlipLo. It seems to work well. I have both CF packages and before the SlipLo I did have a couple of spots in my World that would scrape. Also a very easy install. There are 8 strips in one of their Ultra packages and I only used 2 strips. A full strip in the middle and a half strip...
Will this stand up to repeated erasures and rewrites? I recall I ended up getting a San Disk Extreme Plus Endurance or some such. It is in the car so I can't reach it as I type this, but the constant read and rewrites as even a big card is written over is an issue.
Their braking performance is fine for street driving. I used Carbotech ceramic pads on my C7Z and Power Stop on my ATS-V with no problems for years. And I did donate my OEM pads to track folks as that pad is good for the occasional track day.
