You can pull it out with the supercharger installed. Just pulled mine out earlier pretty quickly. Also noticed another foam insulator below that one. Need to get a mirror back there to see what’s holding it in place.
Jam my fingers through the grill, get behind the emblem where the clips are and push on those. Eventually you’ll get one corner to pop out, pry tool the rest of it gently.
A lot of people just break all the clips, but it’s pretty easy to preserve the original emblem.
So after a few weeks of driving around with the CEL on even after having the control module changed, it went away on its own a couple weeks back. Very strange. And sure enough, the moment the light vanished, control of the valves returned.
Knock on wood of course, but it’s been off now for 2...
OEM GM originally purchased from 404parts. Had these installed for only a few weeks. Made everything on the black car black, and now reeling it back as I want some color back on the paint. These are in perfect condition, just need to have new double sided tape applied to the back. Just did this...
Daily drive my manual 5BW year round. 7600 miles so far. Fantastic daily for sure. My last daily was a G80 M3. That wasn’t bad, but the 5BW is worlds better, and while feeling much more connected. Pretty fascinating.
I’m averaging about 15. But I open her up every chance I get.
Appreciate all the input!
404parts got back to me and confirmed the regular CT5 emblems do fit the BWs that do not have the adaptive radar. Just ordered them. Decent price @ $119 shipped.
Haven’t had luck finding info with searching. Do the standard CT5 Cadillac monochrome badges fit the 5BW? I would assume they do, definitely the rear, but not sure on the front. My 5BW is a manual without the adaptive cruise sensor.
I recently installed the 404parts emblems, while they look...
Exhibitions of Speed carbon fiber front splitter. I’ve had a couple different splitters, and deciding to keep the current OEM replica on the car and let this one go.
This one is the updated version with PPF applied, brand new never installed. Have this priced to hopefully move quickly...
I’m lucky to have a really good service advisor. He gets the specialty/enthusiast aspect of the BW. Has been able to cram the car into his schedule in a 24 hr notice. Always quick too. I just hope it’s as good back in the service bay….
The plot thickens…
Code p0627 is now popping: fuel pump circuit A. Had a notification in the app this morning for a powertrain related fault. Looks like the original problem is extending into other circuits (likely still the control module?). Car continues to drive fine, but not sure how long...
Update for anyone following:
Codes represent a fault in the fuel pump control module. From what the tech explained, it’s the circuit impacting the exhaust valves. Never thought these two systems to work together, but sure enough, I’ve realized that the exhaust will no longer go into...
Really happy with it. I still have my Exhibitions of Speed front splitter, so I’m just debating which one I prefer. They each have their own personality.
Decided to give this OE replica front splitter a shot. Made by Anderson Composites. Great fitment and the carbon seems good. Good option for any 5BW owners that didn’t get the CF1 package. (Way cheaper than sourcing the OE splitter and side wickers as well).
