Is it bad that I wanted more...color? Like, the V logo does have color in it...

So who is attending US GP events ?

I live in Austin and am eying Turn 12 - best seat in the house - $750/seat for 3 day pass.

Anybody ?

I used to attend COTA, but with the cost of attending for 2 people, plus finding a place to stay, it becomes pretty pricey.

I absolutely wanted more color. This doesn't look bad but it also looks pretty boring. I think putting the cadillac script in gold or something would have been cool.

Testing does not seem to be going well so far. Cadillac appears to be over 4 seconds behind the leaders. Here's to some better testing.

Combined: Total pre-season running by team

1 Mercedes 6193km
2 Haas 6095km
3 Ferrari 6090km
4 McLaren 5759km
5 Racing Bulls 5458km
6 Alpine 5289km
7 Red Bull 5048km
8 Audi 4966km
9 Williams 4275km
10 Cadillac 3935km
11 Aston Martin 2111km

This is for all the pre-season testing and the lack of laps didn't help the development but two points did come out.

1. It is apparent that Cadillac will not be impacted by the 107% qualifying rule and that was a genuine concern in many people's minds.
2. Aston Martin / Honda is having so many problems that Cadillac may at least initially, not be the slowest car on the grid.

I know there are different levels of expectations but frankly, insiders are a bit shocked that they have accomplished as much as they have and are running as well as they are. This isn't easy stuff!

It is good that Cadillac has access to the GM sims in North Carolina. The problem is that they are in North Carolina. Haas doesn't have a sim and must use Ferrari's. Most of the top teams have sims in the shop in England and the drivers do sim runs after each race to make sure there was correlation between the sim runs prior to the race and what they saw in the race. They then run sims in preparation for the next race. They can use their reserve drivers but again, the top teams use their regular drivers. This presents a logistics issue in getting them back and forth between the sim and the race track. FYI - it is also common for the reserve drivers to be doing sim work during the race weekend testing changes the team may want to make at the track.
