Tried to schedule the last time dates were released, had issues and was not able to get a spot, today more dates were released and responded within 2 minutes with a prepared email stating my info, preference and correct info and then on second line my wife's info, preference and would be paying for her to attend class. This was mine free and pay for her since we would be coming from upstate NY and would be fun for both of us to participate. Got response that a seat would be held for xx date, responded back to SM and called to ask if she meant to say seat(s) as we both wanted the class, sales associate response via email was nope just one seat and all other seats for released date now have been filled up, let her know by thurs if want to keep that 1 seat or release. WTF how hard is it to just get 2 seats in auto 5BW.
Anyone know of a supervisor in sales i can contact? The sales associate obviously did not read the second sentence of the email for the second seat, and we have been in contact several times from last set of dates until this set of dates and she was more than aware.

The guy I sold my 2022 wanted to go to SM as the second owner and of course paid for the 2 day package. I recall him saying he had to be flexible on when he could go, as priority is always given to the original owner - singular - of a new car. I guess I would make sure whoever you are working with at SM understands you need 2 seats before they release the new dates. I have found them to be extremely accommodating when I have needed to book or change dates (but I never had a second driver, only a guest).

Ashley has always been on top of things with me.

60% of the dates released i replied would work for us, that is 4 of the 7 dates and was told there are 5 sales people filling dates. The person we have been "working" with was aware of the 2 slots needed since the last debacle on last round of dates released. I just took myself out of the 1 seat they held and will try for 2 seats again next round. I am having a hard time understanding what the rush is to fill, release dates and have one person receive all the replies and get each reply in order received email set with date then move onto the next and the other 4 can work out any other details.
I am guessing they have about 5 manual and 5 auto BW5's so that is 35 slots each transmission released and 20 slots available for the dates i replied yes to within 2 minutes were already filled. mind boggling.

I finally got a spot today after unsuccessful attempts the past two releases. It looks like you have to respond within 3-5 mins of email to secure a spot.

I worked with Ashley as well and she was great. Booked three spots for my trip this past January. No issues and she made the process easy.

Just got my CT4 a couple of weeks ago. Going on March 4th and 5th. Ask about cancellations and you'll get a sooner spot. Did same thing with my C8Z. My wife is going this time and no issues. Working with Ashley Saeger. Understand you're frustrated OP but likely a simple miscommunication that can be resolved easily. Good luck.

What’s the $175 fee for guest for? They said I have to pay if my wife is staying in hotel

That fee is for the two nights lodging as well as meals. The guest can also sit in on all classroom instruction and can take a couple sessions as passenger on the track with an instructor driving. You both also get to use most all the other amenities at Spring Mountain while you're there. You actually get quite a bit for the money.

From the info email. Edit: @ngoni treed me. :)

  • Guests / AmenitiesGuest will be allowed in the classroom during all classroom sessions of the program, as well as participate in a ride-along with the instructors.
  • Guest Fee If you plan on bringing a guest, the guest fee will be $175 per person. This $175 is the total for the entire duration of the program and will cover each guest for their meals, amenities, ride-alongs, etc.

fee use to be a lot less, then SM stepped their game and hired a legit chef to run the food. that is why they moved the fee up. they have a lot more than 5 of each car, but they can't use all the cars all the time in case one breaks or needs work. With the vettes they actually buy the cars. With the BW GM provides them so they are limited on how many car/seats they have for them.

Just returned from my 3rd SM visit. They have about 60 Cadillacs on site between 4s and 5s, autos and MTs. The session I was in, I think it's typical, was for 3 groups of 6 that turn into 6 groups of 3 on the track. Its not a shortage of cars, it's the 18 spots. Once filed, not much flexibility. Filling up quickly is frustrating. I worked with Darci for all 3 visits (1 C8, 2 BW5 MT) and she was great each time.

I was on the faster track the first time (White class room) where topping 135mph in the straight was not difficult. During my last visit, BWs were in the Blue class North track and while technically more challenging, topping 105 was about the best I could comfortably manage so a bit disappointing, Guest rides were also toned down compared to the Corvettes ride for guests. My wife was fully harnessed and helmeted for the Corvette ride and was "off her seat" the entire ride. Not even a helmet for the BW ride among meaning a much less aggressive experience.

They have approx 300 Corvettes on site among all Models from base to ZR1 including Erays and multiple sessions going on. I can tell you paying the fee for the guest is a bargain for the 4 meals and amenities. Try to book a Casita. That section is a step up from the lodge and your guest will enjoy it more.

Did anyone have any luck getting one of the spots released today? If yes, would you share your strategy?

I responded 10 seconds after the email arrived with a pre-drafted response containing my info and then 20 minutes later I got a response that everything was sold out. Maybe I need AI to build me a bot lol I could not have been faster on my own.

I went through this frustration myself. All I can say is be patient, as it will all work out in the end. Apparently demand is much greater than supply. They are good people and provide a great experience.

I know, I know, ... why can't they just? Don't we say that everyday about stuff we see going on around us? The older we get the easier we should find it to just go with the flow. You'll get there and it will be great!

You have a 5BW, so it might be harder to get an opening. If you have restrictions like Manual and 5BW those will limit your options. I believe the dates sent are for all options, transmissions and CT 4 or 5s, so they might not have had your car available for all dates.
Also 10s sounds like an exaggeration, did you just reply and say I'll take anything?

I just got in for a 4BW, I was able to make almost all the dates and got my 2nd to last of preferred options. I required a manual and 4BW. I had a pre-drafted document that I wrote the dates I could make it in and then copy/paste a reply from the Cadillac school (not the one I got 15-20min later from my representative - which both are the same email address, just different typed name). Also if you haven't engaged with a representative I would recommend that so they can get you into the system before the date releases. I replied within 2min min and was constantly hitting inbox refresh to make sure I saw the email immediately.

I should add that I feel super lucky I got in first try. When I first talked with my representative she told me that it usually takes a couple tries to get a date and they usually fill up within 5min. Keep trying and if you're getting close to your 1year date make sure you're discussing this with your representative.

They sent out an email today listing openings. My wife and I were sitting at the computer watching for it and responded within 55 seconds, but were told the openings were already gone.

If demand is that high, email is not an equitable system. Emails do not arrive in every inbox at the exact same moment, which gives some people an inherent timing advantage.

Thanks, I was doing the same, refreshing my inbox, and I had spoken with my rep before and tried in the past. 10 seconds is accurate; I did ask for any available 5BW manual date except a week over the summer (which I had pre-written - I didn’t even read the dates in the email before I replied). I knew 5BW manual were in demand but I hoped the quick response would be enough! Looks like the answer is to be patient and keep trying, but I agree with tmc that there must be a better way to do this.

THIRD time was NOT the charm for me either, same as others my wife had pre compiled email sent right after received their email, 20 min later dates have been filled response. So unprofessional how things are done. Wish someone with authority would step in and make changes, go by some other means, vin, purchase date, a civil and professional order not this email way.

Via email is essentially a lottery. I agree, its very unprofessional.

If they believe the random nature of a lotto like system is the most equitable, they should communicate it as such.

Even just setting expectations would be helpful, however not ideal - "You will likely not get a spot on your first few attempts etc etc..."

This is starting to sound like the George Costanza book-in-the-bathroom flagged episode.

I don't know, but I have had great luck calling and having requests accommodated. This last time I needed an approval for extension, so I had to work directly with them. I was booked to go early December, which was already just over a year from the Black Diamond Tricoat arriving, and it conflicted with a church obligation I simply did not want to miss. I was ready to pass on Spring Mountain if they could not extend me. But GM did approve an extension, and when the permission came in, I was quickly put into a terrific Friday-Saturday February spot, and in fact completed the class 2+ weeks ago. I did not have to do the respond fast to the email game, maybe because I was already past the 12 month window.

I'm sure you have tried calling, and who knows why they can't get you in a class. It is amazing experience, and well worth the effort to get booked and complete the class. This last trip was my third, and easily the best of the bunch (I had a headcold on the last visit, that is NOT fun!).
