2024 mod plan/warranty info!

Good Evening!
I own a 2024 BlackWing. Bought it brand new in January have approximately 3,000 Miles on it. I have the normal warranty, as I didn't opt for 10 yr. Im not tracking it or lapping it, just want it a little louder with a little more power. I will probably put less that 5K miles a year on it.
I plan to start with the performance mods: ECU tune, Kong X port, 103 Nick Williams TB, plugs wires, SW Headers. LMP catch can system, 5 in inlet.
I do understand what I'm getting into with potential warranty issues. I was wondering who if any has had warranty issues due to modds.
Lol not trying to talk my self into it or out of it. Im getting it done, just seeing what others may have experienced.
The plan is to put a few more stressed miles on it, difficult at the time, as I switched insurance companies and I'm on the snapshot to lower my rates. I think 3-6 months. Insurance went up after I slammed my supercharged mustang into a ditch avoiding a deer.
Also anyone with similar modds, if you don't mind tell me your Dyno numbers. Suggestions.

If GM wants to they can void your entire power train warranty for modifications. You just need to expect that when you flash it and bolt on those parts. They collect more than enough telematics to have you dead to rights if you come to them with a blown engine or trashed transmission. Will they go to the effort to dig it out and deny you? That's the dice you're rolling. The only honest modders will tell you that you have to 'pay to play' meaning if you want the power, you understand repairs are on you.

After two days at Spring Mountain you realize the limiting factor isn't the cars, it's the drivers. But if all you want to do is turn tires into smoke, I guess more power will make that happen.

I respect that, but for me it is a bit more than turning tires into smoke. Spring mountain isn't the type of daily driving that I have in mind or atleast most of the time. It an amazing tool to learn more about you and your cars limitations Not conducive to how driving is where I live.. lol or I'd be on track. I did enough of that with my sport bikes for many years. The work that ill get done is tailored to what I want. I would like a bit more power, a louder exhaust tone. Have all around faster, more powerful more Comfortable and Controllable car than I had before. Last car was nothing to brag about 16 Mustang GT, Roush supercharged, lth, Injectors underdrive pully etc. Dynoed 669 to the wheel. Work was done in Houma, La. Car had absolutely no issues 2016 -2025. So ill go to the same person hopefully same results.

Spring Mountain isn't just track driving it helps with car control in street driving scenarios too. No one expects to threshold brake while daily driving until the situation occurs. Especially on wet pavement.

The answer about warranty and modding is the same on every platform. If you can't afford to pay for component failures from modding then don't do them. Simple stuff.

Where are you located in Mississippi? I'm in Baton Rouge.
Did you have it done at tuned by Norm? I know he's known for being a Ford tuner.

Sorry about the Mustang, sounded rowdy. Hopefully the extra poise will help keep your CT5 grounded.

As far as the warranty goes, I'd caution you on people experiencing engine failures with the 6.2L. It's not common but, it is a possibility. If you add on varying mods, I'd count on GM not warrantying the engine. You can always do an oil analysis to check on the health of things and, again. What you hear on the internet does not always represent the experience of the majority of owners.

Yes Tuned by Norm. He did an amazing job on my Mustang.
I will definitely have him work on my BW. We've already started talks.

Here is my train of thought on my 5BW ownership. The car came "perfect" from the factory. (Except for no sunglass holder.) I don't need or want anymore power or performance. I have done some cosmetic changes to my liking. If you don't plan on tracking the car.....just leave well enough alone. Changing GM engineering on these cars is just asking for future issues. I don't need to go any faster than the car came from the factory. Went to SM for the experience and to beat on their cars, not mine. I just dropped $8000 on maintenance on my 2014 Dodge Challenger RT Plus at the dealership. This also included some lifetime warranty work that they did, that only cost me a $100 deductible. Once you void the warranty on these cars, get ready to bust out the credit card for the work that will need to be done.
That's just me. I do like seeing other people doing mods to "their cars".

As far as your warranty, sure, it can be a challenge in the rare case that something comes up. I think the regular kong port, TB, and catback would keep you in enough of a gray area that you might be OK with charitable dealer and still yield good performance upgrades. The tune isn't necessary with these mods and would probably guarantee a warranty block.

The whole Mag-Moss warranty deal always comes up in these discussions and the idea that GM has to prove the mods were a direct cause of the failure. But again, a modified ECU is low hanging fruit for GM to deny you.

Yes indeed, I love to see others cars modded. I would love to wait for thr warranty cycle to elapse but, I'm old now. Gotta do what I gotta do. It's not my daily driver. Lol you are absolutely correct, referencing the deer. Hopefully, it won't be a concern if I have to deal with the warranty. Luckily I'm in a position now to afford my mishaps. Still not in the plan. Hopefully all goes well.
I lived in SoCal for awhile Ft. Irwin, ex wife's family is lives in Long Beach so i spent alot of time there. While in the Military, I was able to have an emissions free 77 Corvette, no inspection sticker. I had my small block replaced with a 454 bored over. 700 r 4 built up with overdrive gear. Guy built it for me in Gardena. He was so happy because the states laws didn't apply to the military as Mississippi is/was my home of record.

Started at 17 years old (1981) . Military Police as enlisted. Then Flight Operations . Then OCS and became a Huey Pilot. Now at 61 years old, I perform Honor Guard final honors at funerals for veterans. 12 funerals in just the last 5 weeks.

I got caught up in the mod circus when I owned a 2013 Camaro ZL1 — bigger crank pulley, cold air intake, catch can, the usual stuff. It turned into an expensive nightmare. The biggest issue wasn’t the parts, it was finding someone who could actually tune the car correctly.

After the mods, the car never drove anywhere close to stock again. I went through six different tuners trying to get it to drive like it did off the showroom floor, and none of them could make it feel right. That experience made me swear off performance mods — cosmetic only from now on.

What I learned the hard way is that anyone with a laptop and a copy of HP Tuners can call themselves a “tuner.” That doesn’t mean they understand how the factory calibration actually works.

OP, your guy may be excellent with modified Mustangs, but I’d make absolutely sure he is deeply familiar with GM’s Gen V engine strategy and torque modeling. Those torque tables and airflow models are the heart of drivability. If someone doesn’t truly understand that system, the car may make power, but it won’t drive the way it should.

Hey Crebo, not sure what the 3-6 months reference to the snapshot is about, pretty sure they will be monitoring your driving habits as long as you're on the program, IMO that program will never benefit owners of high horsepower vehicles like yours unless you never use that HP, in which case modding it would be a waste of time and money.

I can tell you with those mods and the right pully selection, add DSX aux fuel pump and proper ECU tuning, the car should make around 720whp.
