CT5-V What don't you like about your CT5-V Blackwing?

Just a thought. I bought the new iPhone and got a new case as well. This one grips much better. You could try a new case, it would probably help.

I use this case with my iPhone 17. But in the past I’ve used $15 Silicone cases and any one will give good grip as long as it’s Silicone. Some attract lint more that others. So far the Torras case has not.

1 - agreed. 2- cant say this has happened. Maybe a grippier case back might help keep it in place. 3 - as in they don't fit in the center console or glove box or you desire a special place just for your glasses?

Re: turning radius. Agree it is awful. Worst part of the car.

Apparently it's 42.4 feet. My wife's '13 Mercedes C-class sedan's is 35.3 feet. So 7 feet shorter, that's like an entire parking spot width.

Easy fix:

1. Turn off TC
2. Put into 1st gear
3. Crank the wheel all the way to left or right
4. Let off clutch & floor it
5.

After a couple of years and almost 9000 miles on my 5 still same complaints 1- fuel tank lack of capacity 2- wireless phone charger location SUCKS, phone constantly slides back into shifter boot well or on the floor with any minor show of acceleration 3- no sunglasses holder.
I still fucking love this car

I have this clear case that always grips the phone in the corners. I put it in the center console for track session though.

I have a '22 so no built in, just phone projection. Like I said, phone projection on our older BMW integrates turn instructions in the HUD but not on the BW. A minor nit.

Two steps between nav and audio when using CarPlay.
In my wife’s Mazda, when you press the “music” button you immediately go to SiriusXM, or whatever you were listening to, and when you press “nav”, immediately back to Waze (or whatever nav up you use).

Not sure if this helps, but I discovered recently that a long press on the "home" button takes you directly to Carplay from any other screen.

I have two complaints about my Blackwing.

The first, as others have mentioned, is the wireless phone charger. I don't have a case on my phone, so it slides around too easily and often ends up out of position. I’m constantly having to readjust it to get it to charge. Very annoying.

The second is that the rearview camera mirror doesn’t come standard. The car has front, rear, and side cameras that provide a full 360-degree view, yet mine is equipped with a basic, old-school rearview mirror because it wasn't optioned with the right package. With a base price approaching $100K, you’d think a digital rearview mirror would be standard equipment.

I’ve tried to use it multiple times, forcing myself to get used to it, and I just can’t.

My eyes can’t focus fast enough, and even when they do the picture just isn’t as sharp as the actual mirror, hard to tell if a popo is creeping up from far back on the highway.

Try focusing in on the rear view camera while wearing trifocals. Ha! Needles to say, I hate it.

My wife doesn’t like the rearview camera mirror either, so I get where you’re coming from. I actually like it because it gives a much wider view of what’s behind the car. It does take my eyes a split second to adjust, but once they do, I don’t have any trouble focusing. If you’ve got the option, you can always switch it off if you prefer the regular mirror — unfortunately, my car doesn’t give me that choice.

I found that if I forced myself to use it for a couple of days I adjusted quite well (started with the V3 CTS-V so I have over 100k miles with it now and I'll be er go back - no blind spots, ability to zoom, etc..)

Fuel tank size and turning radius covered plenty already. I wanted to believe someone could come up with a custom fuel tank in the stock location with increased capacity until I saw the factory tank.

I dislike that the gage screen and HUD occasionally default back to stock display settings for no apparent reason.

Also dislike the audio quality, didn’t buy the car for the radio but it’s really poor sounding.

Yes, I’m aware of the third-party options out there. Your last sentence, though, is exactly why I haven’t taken the plunge—sounds like more hassle than I want to deal with. I’ll just live with the standard rearview mirror and keep complaining like it’s part of the ownership experience.

To my ears, the sound quality in my BW is actually pretty darn good — definitely better than the Bose systems in my Porsche and former C8. What’s funny, though, is that the “lowly” base audio system in my ’21 GMC Elevation pickup still takes the crown. The bass in that truck is surprisingly deep and tight — it puts the others to shame.

10000000% agree with you. Even worse, it was somehow on constraint when we placed my order in 2022 for a 2023 model, which is nuts.

I have a huge Samsung 21Ultra. With the case it fits too tight sometimes. The rear view mirror in camera mode actually works better than the regular mirror at night. IMO.
