2023 CT5-V Blackwing, 2013 CTS-V
Longtime V2 owner here and been lurking around the Blackwing forums for some time now - I'm very much a late adopter (didn't get into the V2 until the V3 launched and was auto-only which solidified my decision) and thought I had the last manual V8 supercharged American sedan ever - until the CT5-V BW came out. And then I made the mistake of driving one. And although the V2 has a special place in my heart, I knew the BW was too good to not get one. I refused to pay a markup on 2022-2023 models, and then Cadillac dropped Electric Blue for 2024 plus I started hearing rumors of a potential facelift for 2025, but when it was official, I wasn't sold on the facelift or the 33" screen and figured I'd have to see/play with one in person...in the end, I had decided a 2026 in Typhoon was going to be the car for me. But then I got an interesting alert on Autotrader.

A 2023 Electric Blue 5BW with basically every option I would have ticked in 2023 (including manual, CF1+2, PDR, and CCBs - just missing the red seat belts), being sold with 82 miles on it and with no previous owners? I called the dealer and the story was it was a GM showcase car that apparently lived in Detroit alongside a Rapid Blue C8 and ZL1 to show off to investors and other bigwigs that came to town. Was being sold Certified Pre-Owned which took a bit of the sting of the warranty having already started - which seemed interesting considering it had never been sold but confirmed with Cadillac customer service that it was considered in-service despite never actually leaving GM's ownership.

Bought for $112k+tax against a $126k MSRP - I felt like I did pretty okay for what's as close to a brand new 2023 as I can get. Unfortunately, despite utilizing enclosed transport from a company recommended by the dealer, they managed to scrape up the front carbon splitter and put a small scrape on the rear bumper so I've been (im)patiently awaiting Geico to resolve the claim (it's not going well - basically they're getting a non-response from the trucking company so I suspect I'll have to litigate my way out of this) so waiting on that to get resolved before I put miles on her. But in good news - I still qualify for a paid Spring Mountain trip and will look forward to attending probably in the spring!

Looking forward to hanging around here more actively and hopefully get a chance to meet some of you.

My wife has a 2025 CT5V BW and I have a 2024 CT5V BW, the 33" screen is really nice for some things and feels more premium but I don't like that they did away with a lot of hard buttons and switches from the 2022-2024 models to access info on the main instrument display and HUD. I do greatly prefer the 2025 model 33" screen though for the all the information on the infotainment screen.

Bummer about the shipment issues. I would be rightfully upset too.

This is a cool story! Fascinating when you put something out 'there' and it comes back to you like this. It takes a blend of determination, patience, and readiness when the opportunity presents itself.

Congrats !!

That's a heck of a deal and great ride.

Glad you're part of the club now !!

I wonder if she used to live in the Detroit Renaissance Center??View attachment 31655
To be honest, that's what the dealer implied, but I also figured they'd just try and hype up the car to help make the sale regardless of whether it was fact or not - but visually, that's the exact same spec of this car. I'd loveeeee to know what the serial number is on that car pictured - that'd be super cool if it's the same one!

Very nice and similar to mine. Mine was a CTF that was shuttled around to car reviewers. Sold Certified pre owned and considered "used" even though I was first purchaser of car.

The first thing I did was check the wheel color of the wheels on the Electric Blue BW in the Savagegeese video where Jack is on the limiter destroying a pair of Pilot Sports for 2 minutes...it has the graphite wheels.

You had me concerned there for a minute so I had to pull both their videos up and check the details - thankfully their first BW doesn't have a sunroof and their second doesn't have CF packages so I think I'm in the clear 😃

That’s the one from Germain Cadillac? I called them early June, to inquire on the ultra low mileage. They said they had a deal in progress and would call if it fell threw. I guess it was you! Congtats!! Anyway, when I first saw it a few days prior I struggled with the color, but it checked every other box as far as options. U snooze u lose as the saying goes.
And that sucks with the transport company. I would be very pissed. Was it a multi-car carrier or single?

Hope you got a good deal because these reviewer cars were likely abused early into their break in.
Not to sound hostile that is not my intent. Honestly its not an issue for me. I did get a great deal and a warranty to boot. My car has 23000 miles on it with no issues and was driven hard, obviously. Unlike some that have been diaper loved and had engines grenade. It is what it is.

The car was made to be driven if it falls apart because of being driven as intended then there is an issue. Again warranty.

Yep that's the one! I originally wanted Electric Blue but was bummed they dropped it in 2024 so I figured this was the last/best chance to buy the vehicle I would have bought anyways in 2023/2024 if the markups and CF constraints weren't so prevalent.

The enclosed transport fit two vehicles max, so I'm not sure if they had to unload and reload the BW mid-trip to move the other vehicle around or what.

Hey, if you're good with it, I am. I was just pointing out that reviewers are hard on performance cars.
