Crazy Dealership

The dealership I bought mine from in Upstate NY had one of these come in a few days before mine. It was black. Nothing fancy, just black. I was told tat the buyer got the allocation for the special edition because he worked with Cadillac on some project. This one was a gift for a family member. I can't confirm this, but i was told that the buyer was Post Malone. He supposedly already had one of his own. The MSRP on it was just south of $160k. I wish I had family that would gift me a $160k car.

For perspective my 4BW has come from the factory with assembly, fit and finish and paint issues all over the place. Most people may not notice, but in comparison to BMW, this car is a total disaster. Since we have all chosen these cars over BMW, having a hand built machine that is meticulously assembled gives us the option (small few of us) to have BMW build quality in the car of our choosing. I sold my G80 M3 for my 4BW. I prefer the 4BW in every category but the fit and finish is terrible. My car has:

1) Loose interior trim, I had to pull it off and adjust the clips and reseat it
2) Paint bubble on rear quarter bumper that misaligned the body panel, pushing the panel 5mm off the car, had to be cut off and realigned
3) Rear bumper cover not fully seated in the clamps, causing trunk to leave marks on the lower panel, until it was clamped back in by a local body shop
4) Both rear C pillars have large 12" shallow paint splotches which is visible in certain light
5) Issues with the turbo chirping, replaced the actuator arm and it still chirps, need a new turbo
6) Leaking front strut, replaced under warranty

I have 2800 miles, I love this car, but if I could have spent another $30k for perfection, I would have done it.

Your hand built perfection would have had that same leaky shock and bad turbo, just sayin'.

Sorry about your issues, hopefully it gets better!

The color is called Tactical Tintcoat. If I had the choice of those custom colors there are many I would have picked before this one.

For old times sake

My brother just leased a Tesla for his wife. She went and picked out everything she wanted. A few days ago she asked him if he wanted to drive the car. It has a white interior. As soon as my brother got in, he asked her if she noticed that the drivers door has a black interior and the other three doors are white. She said that she thought , that's how it comes because the driver door maybe gets dirty ! Tesla gets a call and they send a tech to replace the door interior with a white one. Guess what, in the box is another black one. Now he has to wait a few days to try again. We own a body shop and my brother checks and sees that the door hinge bolts are black. The car is pearl white. It seems that Tesla replaced a brand new door prior to the lease.
Can't make this stuff up.

Service is total joke anywhere with anything. Service society and held together by shoe strings I tell ya! I have spent about 5 minutes in one and concluded it's without a doubt one of cheapest built scams I have seen in quite awhile......

That sucks and it sounds like you are unlucky. With the exception of one small imperfection in the paint about the size of a dime, my 4 BW is pretty solid. I have not had any mechanical or fit/finish issues. While the materials aren’t as nice as what I had in my AMG, the build quality is the same if not better. No interior rattles or buzzing. I have a near poverty spec BW so for just over $60K this car is a great value. While I think it’s neat that these collector models exist, they don’t add anything in terms of performance and water down the value (at least for me). Hopefully your BW does not give you any more issues going forward.
Wow, very surprised at these issues you mention. I have the same year 4BW purchased in November '23 and now with 20K on the speedometer and report it has been perfect to own. Absolutely no issues whatsoever. I have to believe your experience is rare.
