Blackwings and Watches

Unfortunately no safe radium. That 1600 year half life would sure be nice though :)

Tritium is only 12, so we'll so how it goes..........

If you avoid eating or inhaling the Tritium from that sharp watch, you'll be good to go... :thumb

I've found a few of those made in china sites. Face place is flooded with them. I'm still learning a lot but would assume someone that's knows would easily be able to pick a fake. I have considered buying one of the Richard Mille's. God knows I've spent $600 on dumber things in life.

Here’s my watch.

Got it back in 2022.

I have to take it in to get serviced, since it is starting to lose 7-8 seconds a day.

I apparently do it backwards. I am right handed and wear on my right.

Yep.

My son was the reason I got into watches.

He is really into them and loves to talk to anyone about the various makes, tech specs, etc.

He is always asking me to go with him to various AD’s. The next thing I know he & the manager or sales person are BS’ing about watches.

Steve

Just an observation. Are people who wear their watches on their right wrist.....left-handed?
They tend to be.

I am.

Rolex brought out a GMT II - just for lefty’s - so that the crown was in the same position as a person who wears a watch on their right hand.

Edit:

Sorry - should have said the crown is in the same position as where right handers Wear their watches on the their left hand.

Edit - should have also said - other than buying a Milgauss with them the year before, where we had no prior business with the AD.

Anyone happen to have experience with a Ulysses Freak (pic for reference)? Look to be great conversation starter without being so different I would find them annoying. @668LT4 you have commented some on Ulysses any thoughts?

A friend said he hears they "wear" big but he had not seen one in person either.

Can it tell time?

I’ve never owned one but I’ve seen several in person and I’m always in awe. The movement and hands are one and the same, completely flipping the watch design on its heads, it’s amazing. It’s a conversational piece for sure. I was highly considering buying the Freak One, black dial, gold bezel, never pulled the trigger.

It just looks like it doesn't even tell you what time it is, which I believe is the main purpose of a watch?

Oh it absolutely tells the time, and quite easily.

I am off for now, but can comment more tomorrow. The Freak is, and will always be, an icon within the watch world.
