Removing the front bumper on my ‘22 to have dropped off for paint to repair rock chips.. bumper removal is pretty straight forward, right up until it comes to unplugging the main wiring harness behind the passenger headlight.. I can NOT get this unplugged. What am I missing? *scratches head* Any tips/advice on getting this sucker unplugged..

The red part is a safety interlock to prevent the connector from disconnecting. Once this is slid back, you need to raise the little latch underneath slightly to get it to unlock. Try a small flathead screwdriver to lift it while pulling the connector apart. Look at the connector closely with a flashlight.

I did fail to mention I was able to slide the red lock out (away from the connector) but wasn’t seeing anything to really disengage the whole plug itself. I’ll try your advise and get back in there later tonight, thanks for the advice sir @Z28

On the CT4 there is an identical socket mounted on the top left shock tower in the engine compartment that is easy to access that you can practice on, if the CT5 has the same thing.

The real PITA is getting it reconnected on the install because there is little room to reach around it to work the latch. My wife helped as I held one side and she pushed the outer collar on and activated the lock.

You’re the man!! Thanks for sending this my way, huge help seeing a visual of the disconnect in action.. It is a PITA getting in there to the plug, now I know why the FSM states to remove the airbox to remove the front fascia..
