I used to be die hard iron brake guy and always thought it was a waste for the ceramics. Never clicked the ceramic option on any of my builds. Bought a CPO car that I did not spec with PCCBs a few years ago and once I had them I was instantly converted into a ceramics douchebag almost...
I wonder if the BBS FIR are lighter than the magnesium wheels. They are 17lbs front and 18lbs rear for 19” fitment. According to tirerack they fit the blackwing. Not cheap but very nice wheels….
1.5 years 7k miles. Kids in the car constantly. Put a coat of CQuarzt ceramic on the leather when new. Zero color transfer on seats. Some dirt build up on door pulls door arm rests after a year. Wiped right off with a damp microfiber cloth.
Initially planned to daily it 365 days a year. Quickly reconsidered winter driving because of the impracticality and safety. I get a fair amount of snow. So it is daily driven spring summer and fall. Sits for the winter. 6-7 thousand miles a year. Gets taken everywhere and parked everywhere. It...
Summer mostly PTM sport. Spring and Fall mostly PTM dry/wet. Parked in the winter. Only time I’m in touring mode is if on a long interstate road trip and using cruise control (which is awful without adaptive cruise).
The 7-speed boxes in the 991.1 and later Carreras is pretty sloppy I have owned a few and disliked the 7-speed manual. The 6-speeds in the Porsche GT products is much MUCH better. I daily my 5BW6MT and it has a great manual. When I jump directly to the Porsche 6 speed from the BW the Porsche...
I think if you get the car in the correct PTM mode your opinion will drastically change. Try sport or dry ptm mode BUT you have to get it so that the traction control and stability control “off” yellow lights are on the dash. Even though it says it’s off it really isn’t completely off. But you...
I agree with quicksilver. These boxes like more RPMs. I find especially the 1-2 shift is far better when done at anything other than very low RPMs. The Porsche upshift light is a complete joke I think it is there for fuel economy reasons only.
Sounds very scary especially if this is a pervasive issue. Glad nobody was injured. I would suggest filing a report with NHTSA:
