Drop CF and maybe get a 2022 - or hold on and wait probably until fall or later?

So here's my dilemma. My dealer said if I dropped CF1 and CF2, I may jump to the top of the queue (hey, that rhymed - maybe there's a song here, LOL). Curious as to reactions from the members - what would you do? PS - I don't plan to track the car much if at all, so the aero benefits of the CF are secondary to the looks, for me anyway.

I was in the same situation, I decided to drop CF1 & CF2, car got accepted the next week. I had been waiting since June. tpw 3/28, If I feel the need to get the Carbon Fiber I'll order a 2023 or 2024 if still making them and trade mine in. I just want the car.

I heard the 170ish lbs of down force was generated at 180 miles per hour? If that's true then the expensive CF package is really just for looks and bragging rights

I wanted CF1 and 2, but before I ordered , I was told about the constraint. I ordered anyway without them. I thought about changing my order a few days after, but then I thought about the price increase for 2023 model, so I just left it alone. It has been built and now I am waiting for delivery on the goat rodeo.

I was in the same dilemma. The wait wasn't my concern, but the possible 2023 price increase was.

Maybe the price won't go up, but I find it hard to believe it won't go up some. So even if its 5% I would be paying an extra $5k plus tax extra for a 2023. Without the carbon the car is almost $10k cheaper than I was planning. So you are talking a possible $15k+ swing in the cost of non carbon 2022 vs. carbon for 2023 and IMO the carbon is not worth $15k to me. Just not worth the risk IMO.

EDIT: To be clear I am talking about the 5 BW.

I ended up dropping CF1 and CF2 and carbon backed seats and my dealer just got an allocation. Two people in front of me did not want to drop CF so looks like my order might be up!

I had CF1 + CF seats (5BW), but had my dealer modify my order to remove them. Unlike some posters here, I have not received an allocation since doing so. I was primarily concerned about the price increase in 2023, but also just really want the car. I do think the CF lip and CF decklid spoiler make the look of the car, so I'll try to get those somehow later on.

The seats I am bummed about as well. I had the sky cool gray seats + CF and think those look the best by far. I really wanted the CF backing because my kids are going to destroy the alcantara backing of the mid-tier sky cool gray seats.

This whole situation is annoying.

I agree about the kids... that's why I ended up optioning the seatback organizer for $195. I'd rather my son use that as a foot test (my daughter fortunately does not do that...I think she is now my favorite for the moment because it would have been another $195 for her side)
