You've mentioned in a few of your earlier posts "paint thickness" but I'm curious... what are your concerns there? Typically paint layers are applied at only a few thousandths of an inch.

When I sold my V3 to a broker back in June they went over it with a coating thickness gauge to determine if it ever had been repaired.

I'd suspect any good detail shop has a gauge for paint thickness. They especially like to have it when older cars come in for detail so they know how much they can cut in the buffing process.
