You're right, I didn't pay attention, just quickly assumed it was the AC hood.Looks like an AC replica with two additional cut outs at the rear of the hood.
Very similar, but I liked the 2 larger carbon cutouts vs the smaller 3 in the middle of the AC and how the cowl goes all the way back smooth to the back of the hood without the indent in the side. Personally I thought it was a bit smoother and had a bit more of an aggressive look which I liked.Looks like an AC replica with two additional cut outs at the rear of the hood.
Looks great!I just had my Anderson Composite hood installed 2 weeks ago. Love it ! Car looks sooooo much better than a stock hood. Fit perfectly out of the box. Opens and closes like a factory hood.
The underneath is not pretty. It would have looked nicer to have been clear coated, but its not. Just flat black carbon fiber. The hood probably would have cost 25% more if it was finished. There is a belly pan that catches the water that will go thru the top hood vents. The belly pan diverts the water thru small slats facing the windshield, so your engine does get water on it.Whats the underside look like?
I should have been at my brothers shop and saw how it looked. I would have had him clear coat the underside. Here is the underneath.
That's ok I suppose if you don't ever want to remove the rain tray assuming yours had one.I mounted the OEM hood liner.
Looks pretty nice considering most CF hoods are pretty garbage compared to OEM (ZR1 and the V3). Most are fiberglass on the underside. It is a 2 piece hood that's bonded together? Here is the underneath.
Nah, this is fully integrated CF to the skeleton. I know what you're talking about, I used to have Seibon hoods in my old S14 that had FRP skeleton with a glued on CF skin on top. These are definitely nicer quality than those (even tho they're under the same Seibon company umbrella).Looks pretty nice considering most CF hoods are pretty garbage compared to OEM (ZR1 and the V3). The CTS-V3 is open vents without drip tray. I haven't had any issues but I'll take a look next time its raining hard outside
Never going to remove the rain tray, don’t see a need. That's ok I suppose if you don't ever want to remove the rain tray assuming yours had one.
That shot is without the rain tray but the tray should fit under the liner. Haven’t washed her as I didn’t want to soak the liner. I routed a hose to pour out in the gap where the hood attaches. Will have the full install pics later this week but this is the tray I built.Did you leave the rain tray attached , when you mounted the hood insulation or is it removed? If you removed it, does water just flood the insulation? Enquiring minds need to know. As for my original hood....it will now me hung on the fence, in my detail area, on the side of my house, right next to my Dodge Challenger hood.
