Finally got my Anderson Composites hood installed. Its subtle but certainly more aggressive. Fitment is OEM quality. The OEM hood weighs 28lbs, the AC hood weighs 26.7lbs.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it and did you have to have it painted to make the color match?

Underside hood pics.

Both cars look great !!

That is pretty steep. Wish it were available when I had mine replaced after a hailstorm right after I got it.

I'm surprised it only saves 2 pounds.

But the flutter above 120 mph is what I'd want to fix.

Have you tested that ? Surely the carbon is stiffer than the canvas-level stiffness of the stocker.

I had heard that the weight difference was minimal from others that made the switch but I couldn't find anyone that actually measured it so I checked my stock hood after the new one was installed and it was 28lbs with PPF, I had to E-mail Anderson Composites to get the weight of the carbon fiber hood since it's not mentioned anywhere online. Yea, 2lbs isn't much but none of us buy it for that reason, it's all cosmetic with the potential for greater cooling. I just added the weight above since no one online has actually provided the weight comparison.

I haven't noticed any flutter yet but I've only had the car up to 75mph so far since installing the hood. Might be a bit longer before I push it beyond that simply because I'm still in the process of letting the paint cure so that I can add PPF. I don't want to get any nicks in the fresh paint. I can say just opening the hood and shutting it, it does not feel flimsy at all. In fact shutting the hood feels and sounds like just like OEM.

Thank you so much but now lol…..i need you to take like ten steps back, straighten the wheel and show me a side pic that includes the entire silhouette of the car with the front lip/rear spoiler…..and lower the camera to like the testicle level…..i wanna see how much higher the hood is raised vs stock from the side…..please…..im so sorry. Im slow……man the car looks soo good btw….i wanna go the gloss black route also.

The hood is maybe a 1/4 inch higher near the areas closest to the windshield. I get a pic later

Any improvement in temps or is this just a fantastic cosmetic win?
