CT4-V Used or new CT4V BW?

Ive been looking for a used 4VBW with a manual and it seems like the used market is not the greatest deal right now.

Im seeing low mileage MY22 specs that sold new for 65 to 70k only marked down into the upper 50s. Additionally, Im in SoCal which appears to have the worst prices in the country lol

I have an order for a MY26 with a pretty base spec for $65.8k.

I generally like a good deal and dont mind buying lightly used (25k miles or less) but it almost seems like a better deal to buy brand new and if I dont love the car, to sell in 1 to 2 years.

Curious what people think, and also, anyone one wanna sell their MT 4v Blackwing
 
I am not sure where you are seeing these type of prices. Used 22s have bben going for low to high 50s private sale. Thats what I have been seeing on Facebook. These cars have a pretty bad resale value. Not a car I would buy new if I was concerned with that.
 
For performance oriented vehicles like the BW I always like to buy new, because you never know how the person before you treated it. For that price difference I think even more justifiable to buy new. If you want to get the best deal try finding some new 25s on the lot. You will likely be able to negotiate a good price since the 26s are coming out. That is what happened with my BW, I had an order in for one and since the 25s were starting to hit the lots I got about $5K off MSRP putting my low spec BW in the low 60s. Another perk of buying new is Spring Mountain, which is probably close to about $3K in value.
 
Stick with your order or shop around the country or nearby States to find something quicker and similarly equipped with low options. This car seems to hold value pretty well so I would go with brand new. Agreed with @Super Saloon

I would love to have a ct4v blackwing but I think I'm maxed out at this time. I hear it's a fantastic car other than being a bit small and not having a V8.
 
In your case I would buy new, the bonus being that you get to attend the V Academy, which is the best way to really learn the car. 👍

Yeah the spring mountain piece was a big incentive to buy new, I didnt realize people were getting off MSRP even for lower priced trims!

Sell that bike. It appears to be worth the price of a 4BW. 😉🤣
 
For your kind of spec there's not much of a difference between low mileage used ones and a new one. I would get a new one unless you can find one for 15k lesser than your spec. Most used ones which depreciate a fair bit(% wise) are ones which had loads of options and had msrp of 75k+ which IMO add nothing to the core experience of the car.
 
what discount off msrp should I target? I was originally waiting for CPO or a nice private owner car to show around 50k but if I could get a new one with the bucket seats for under 65k I would be tempted (MSRP I see around 70-72k)

completely bare bones it could be possible to get one under 65k current MY (2026 model); but you'll be getting a great deal. The bucket seats add $5k to the price and base starts at $64k. The cars go up every year and I think in the last 2 years they've gone up $1k. When people talk about the price they got, you have to know when and what the market was like then.

also important to know that getting below MSRP is going to be down to how good you are at negotiating and what dealer you go to. Some dealers still add mark ups to the 4BWs. If you are ordering one it will be harder to get below MSRP, versus buying off the lot. While the CT4s aren't selling well, the blackwings still get gobbled up quick. It also comes down to how badly you want the car; if you're not willing to walk away from a deal then you'll always be at a disadvantage for getting the best deal.
 
yeah I was looking at a few on the lot with the seats pretty much as the only option. they are on the lot and have been there for a few weeks. I can be pretty patient as I have a fun car for now haha
