Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

There's a CT4 BW on carsandbids. Just an FYI in case someone is looking for one.

yeah but has a sunroof. A no go for many people. I saw that in my C&B email this morning. nicely equipped otherwise.

No it's not mine. A CT4BW is on my list of vehicle to seriously consider. I just don't want to deal with a black car again.

It's not like the 4BW has a carbon roof though, that was the reason why sunroofs were frowned upon with the older M3s. I specifically ordered mine with one because I'm coming in from a convertible, so I want to preserve some open air driving.

I guess it does add weight and robs some headroom.

Transmission, Sunroof, and CCB are the big 3 polarizing options for the BW, in my experience.

I dislike sunroofs on sports cars and performance cars and it just drives me crazy when I see all these black wings with them... This is me but I understand a lot of people probably desire them.

I'm the complete opposite. I've never really understood why people dislike them so much unless you're tall and need the headroom. I can't imagine anyone is actually driving theses cars in a manner where the tiny bit of extra weight from a sunroof is a problem. And I've never ever had a problem with a sunroof leaking or needing to be repaired, and that includes one in a 30 year old M3.

To me it's basically a requirement. I like the light it lets into the car and the more open air feeling it gives even if I never actually open it.

I don't think there's a right or wrong to be honest. It's actually especially in the case of the Blackwing, where it's supposed to be an all-rounder daily driver which can also hit the track, then sunroofs become one of those creature comforts. It's right in the middle so it could tip towards the luxury or the performance side.

If I want a pure sports car by definition... I'd be driving a Miata or a classic Lotus with no air conditioning.

I am just glad GM gives us the choice to have a sunroof or not on our cars. Many luxury cars have it as a standard feature.

My BW4 is the first car in 25 years that I bought that didn't have a sunroof. I miss it dearly. Weight savings to me is a joke as I'm not being timed for anything but dinner. Never in all of my cars dealt with a leak either. Driving home last night was cooler outside and really made me realize I miss the roof window.

I ended up with a sunroof because I bought used. The Ulraview has an electric sunshade - two of them - but they operate as one, no way to open one shade, like leave the back open front closed...cannot. I'd really prefer a slicktop after never using the sunroof in my other car other than to vent heat when parked. it is what it is lol

I wish my car had a sunroof. I drive with windows open into upper 80s and down into 40s. At 5'8", head clearance is not an issue and the weight savings are meaningless.

That's at least 2 Road Atlanta Track Editions that don't have a sunroof. The one that I ordered but, didn't end up getting was another.
