V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2025 CT5-V
Our new 2025 CT5-V Drift has the chrome emblems, but decided to give the black emblems a whirl. The "instruction sheet" that comes with the emblems is rather stupid. It points you to the emblem replacement instructions on the interwebs. I did a search and found no instruction sheet here on the forums. Doesn't mean one isn't there, it just never showed up.

Good thing is, it covers instructions for CT4 and CT5.

Got the emblem set for the non-BW under p/n 86559610. Includes 3 "V" badges, the "CT5" the black "AWD" emblem as well, if yours is so equipped. Does not have the "Blackwing" lettering underneath.

BW p/n for the set is 86596092 for reference.

Either of them list for 295 from the dealer, but try to get them from a dealer that will give you a discount.

It's not tough, although if you don't know the dimensions for some of it, you'll likey never get them completely right, depending on your trim level.

Anyway, here's the PDF instructions attached for anyone that's interested in doing a peel and stick DIY body trim-level emblem replacement plus the interwebs linky. The Cadillac shield emblem on the grille and center trunklid is another animal altogether. It says "Site Maintenance" for the link but trust me, it's the correct link. It's not a Rickroll.

I also have a Drift CT5. Please post pics with the black emblems. I was thinking the chrome looked fine but I am wondering if the black would look even better on a Drift car.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post up and share with all of us. I also have a drift metallic. Planning to leave the badges as is but it's a good option to have to switch over if anyone decides on the darker badges/emblems.

As promised...got a round tuit today and here's my battle with the removal of the chrome CT5 and V emblems and replacing them with the GM black emblem kit. I think it makes a very nice addition with the Drift and black trim. This should be an option.... LOL! Oops! It kinda is!

Sun popped out on me and heated things up where the car got so hot I didn't even need the heat gun to soften up the sticky tape. I did use my old plastic trim removal pry set to remove the emblems. Bojo brand sold by Eastwood many moons ago. Made in USA. Good little tools.

I did it following the GM instructions I posted earlier. The CT5 emblem was easy to remove and clean up. The emblem surround/alignment foam for the new CT5 emblem made it super easy. Had to use tape to align the V emblems. Those jokers had some stickyness to them. Most of the time was used cleaning off the residual sticky tape left behind. PITA.

Now, it NEVER tells you anywhere that the new emblems are marked on the backside as to where they go. I just happened to look at the backs of them and saw that there's a cutout "D" - assume for "Decklid", an "R" and an "L" cutout on the back of the release sheets for the sticky part. And the trunk emblem is very slightly curved to follow the trunk panel curve. They're all the same size and just looking at the front of them it would be hard to tell. Again, none of the literature I read included with the kit or online ever mentioned it. Unless I missed it. Anyway, just a thing to watch for. Not sure if it really really matters, but that's what I found by accident.

So if you want to do this little mod, it's not tough, and not a major time consuming project, but making sure to take care you don't scratch the paint and get them on in the same place they're supposed to be means you have to take your time.

Here's my removal tool.

Here's the residual-

Cleaned off the goo and wiped down the area with alcohol like in the instructions. I had a plastic wedge I taped along the bottom to use as a rest/alignment ledge to keep the emblem from accidently dropping down, because once it sticks, its on there :

And now, the sides:

Picked a lot off with my fingernail, but still needed to go back with the goo remover and alcohol.

Had to make a home HVAC filter run to Home Depot and figured it would be great to get some shots of how the car looks with the new black emblems. I think it looks great on the light colors, but also look good on black, too.

Black V emblem on the side goes well with the black wheels.

I have to ask what you did with the front spoiler and the rear diffuser. Is the rear painted or wrapped? I am guessing painted as it is a very good color match. I have never seen that small a front spoiler before. Where did you get it?

V and not a Blackwing?

What, you guys acting like you ain't never seen a regular TT V6 CT5-V before? They do make them, you know. LOL

:)

Yeah, it's NOT a BW. It's the wife's car. She approved the black emblems on her car, and I think they look good on the Drift color.

There's a BW 6MT available not extremely far away from me, and it's calling my name. Not sure if I'm ready to answer the phone yet.

Common man, the wife's car? Really?

My wife wont get near anything that resembles my Vee for her daily! No like!

Editorial: My wife is completely scared of the power in the 5BW! I gotta throttle back a bit when she's in the car!

Is that drift, looks baby blue? Not the drift I recall, where's the flake?

Yep. She gets the Cadillacs, I get everything else. She bugged the pee out of me until I said yes to buy her red 2020 CT5-V. My "toy" is the 2013 ZL1 convertible MT 6-speed. She doesn't know how to drive a stick very well, so that's good for me.

Yes, that is Drift Metallic. Although the metallic flakes are small and hard to see unless you get it in the right light and lean in close. See the 4th pic in my post above. You can sorta make out the metallic in it.
