Initial Output of 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Twin Turbo V-6 Underestimated

When the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V coupe and sedan were officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the Fall of 2014, Cadillac estimated that power ouput of the 3.6-liter twin-turbo V-6 would be 455 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels.  It turns out, that won’t be the case.

Official SAE testing released today confirms that the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V models will be putting out 464 horsepower while the 445 lb-ft of torque remains the same.  A Cadillac spokesman has officially confirmed these numbers.  While the engine is now officially rated at 9 more horsepower than before, Cadillac will not be revising the ATS-V’s performance numbers as originally published.

Regardless, it looks like Cadillac’s little hotshot is powering up nicely to lay the smack down on all of those German imports running around our road unchallenged!
