General Motors is recalling approximately 67,000 2013 – 2015 Cadillac ATS models from the United States and Canada because the sunroof can be opened too easily with a light touch to the button. This recall comes from filings with the Transport Canada however the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has yet to post the recall so U.S. -specific recall numbers may be adjusted.
While some of you may ask if this is really a defect necessitating a recall, federal law does require that a specific amount of pressure be used for activating sunroof switches.
As a result, Cadillac Dealers will install a new console switch trim plate. We’ll have more information here as it becomes available to us.
