I recall some folks having issue with RPM's jumping without input from the driver. I've noticed my BW4 do this many times, almost always when parking. I've tried explaining it to the dealer when I'm in but they can never reproduce it. I am of the belief the problem is in the automatic idle our cars have as we begin to let the clutch out. More often than not when I'm parallel parking my last direction is reverse into the spot. Usually it is a very slow speed and I'll use the auto idle to maneuver in. Once I get into the spot and stop I will take the car out of reverse and the idles will start acting on their own. I've noticed sometimes the idles increase with the press of the brake pedal. Sometimes I can work the clutch in and out and the RPM's will follow what I'm doing with the clutch. RPM's have never increased by itself when in gear. This video, hopefully it loads, I took just after parking in my garage. I made sure to lift my feet up some from the pedals to be sure nothing was touching. The motor keeps reving up and down on its own. Bueller?
