A few days ago i started getting a message on the DIC that says my brake pads have been replaced and would i like to reset the pad life? Its a yes or no question so i tell it "no" with a check mark and it keeps popping back up. My car is a 23 with 24k miles - i have not replaced the pads nor do i believe the previous owner had them replaced. Also the front pad life is now at "0" on the Brake pad monitor yet the rear pads are at 56%. Last time i looked the fronts were slightly higher than the rear percentage wise.

Anyone have any experience with this? Car seems to stop normal. I have an appointment to take it into the dealer on Christmas eve which is of course 20 miles away.

The brake pad sensor might have gotten damaged or is malfunctioning - I'd definitely have the dealer check it out since saying "no" should make that message go away and the front pad reading jumping to 0% sounds like a sensor issue rather than actual wear.

Yeah a sensor seems like a logical first step. I don't know how much involved that would be to replace - dealer has a wait list for service loaners so i may have to get them to diagnose it and then bring it back for actual replacement if that is the issue. I have other vehicles to drive however the dealer is a ways away so that is a pain.
