I am nearing a new set of rear tires pushing 19k miles on my 2023 BW with CCBs and would like to know if there’s anything in particular I need to let the shop know or tools to use to avoid any inadvertent damage to a rotor removing the wheels.

Probably overthinking it and I know the rotors don’t just crumble, but they aren’t cast iron and can be damaged. Thoughts and experiences?

The car comes with a styrofoam looking accessory that you are supposed to wrap around the rotor before removing the wheels. (how you are supposed to fit your hand back there...I have no idea)

From what I understand, if they hit the rotor while removing the wheel, there is a good chance they will permanently damage the rotor.

I bought these for peace of mind:

Thank you that’s great!

I don't have CCBs, but also bought some of those lug guides to keep from scraping my painted calipers during tire rotation.

Same here and makes lining up for the other lugs a breeze. Come to think about it, I traded an Audi for my 5BW and still have the ones I used for that car 😂.

I bought a set of these from Reverse Logic for my C6 Z06 back in the day (M12 x 1.5). Later he got bought out by Steelman Tools. I have a set of M14 x 1.5 for my 5BW.
