2024 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing
Just wanted to say hello and share a pic of my used but new to me Velocity Red A10 2024 CT5-V Blackwing. This is a pic at the dealership before I drove it home. Window tint, 2 step detailing and ceramic coating, and full front PPF coming this upcoming week. CF spoiler and splitter coming in the near future too. I traded my 2020 Shelby GT500 for this car with no regrets. My wife bought a 2025 CT5-V Blackwing 3 months ago and that sold me on this car. I was driving her car more than my GT500 so I had to get one for myself.

Congrats! I traded a GT350 for my 5BW. The Shelby cars are great but the Blackwings are a better all around car. Enjoy the ride!

Nice. Love that color and that's a rarity. I would also pick Red if I had the chance. Btw, I also have a dark horse mustang since you mentioned you had a GT350 Shelby that you traded in. I bet you're going to miss that voodoo high revving engine in certain ways. Mustang is more of a muscle car in my opinion and the ct5 is more of a super sedan.

I had to drive 1400 miles round trip to get this car because of the color. It seems to be ultra rare and I had a 2021 ZL1 before the GT500 in a color very similar but it was called Red Hot. I loved that color so I was surprised when I found a Blackwing in this color. There were literally only two of these in this color for sale nationwide on Autotrader.

I had a GT500 which has the Predator engine, same 5.2L as the Voodoo but it's a cross-plane crank engine so less vibration and doesn't rev quite as high. The GT500 redlines above 7K. The problem with the DOHC engines though is that they don't start to really make power until about 3500rpms but the GT500 has 3.73 rear end gears to help get it to the rpm range quicker where it makes its power, it certainly doesn't feel as torquey for daily driving as the LT4 engine in the Blackwing, ZL1 and Z06. And I would agree they are different cars. My biggest issue with the GT500 though is that for $85K, the interior is straight out of a Mustang rental car with a few CF bits thrown on the dash to make it look more upscale. Most of the interior is cheap plastics, which rattle and creak. The ride quality is pretty awful in the GT500 too. It just doesn't feel like a $85k product, it feels like it should have been priced around $65k at the most.
