Bet this subject hasn't been discussed.

Our home was built in 2012. All the cars we've had are fairly similar size wise.

All the cars leave 4 spots where the tires sit, no surprise there.

I have yet to find some procedure that will clean those areas.

I've tried parts cleaners, Windex and mass airflow sensor cleaners and used a circular wire brush on a drill with zero improvement.

Any ideas? Don

Have you thought about applying epoxy to your entire garage floor? I had a fellow neighbor and a friend invest in that and it looked awesome. I may do something similar down the line perhaps.

I would recommend Poly aspartic floors. They are identical to epoxy in how they look, but they dont fade. They have great warranties, some offer lifetime. its much more durable than epoxy also. the cost is more but you get what you pay for.

This is a bit frustrating for me. We did an epoxy floor in our last house. Looked beautiful and I was very happy with it. The reason the tires leave spots is based on the compound of the tire and possibly heat from the tire. My wifes RAV4 never left spots. My old Expedition left small spots, which I could clean up. My BW left mostly rear tire spots which I could never get off completely, and the front spots I could get most cleaned off. To answer the question, I did some research and watched a youtube video. The guy used a spray can of Goof Off (Amazon or Home Depot has it) and a brush. Cleaned his spots completely, but it would not clean the BW spots. It did make them better. Hope this helps.

I'll try what ngoni suggested, just don't feel like spending the $ on the epoxy etc. Can easily afford it but better things to do with my $. Don

Well, tried the procedures in ngoni's thread.

Used a fairly hot concentrated Dawn Platinum solution. Poured it on the spots, let it sit for 10 min. Vigorously scrubbed the spots and after 10 minutes repeated the process.

Outcome, made what looked to be zero improvement. I'll try the wire wheel on the drill one more time if no success, I give up.

Glad I didn't waste my time doing the Blackwing's spots. Don

Not that it helps your stains currently being dealt with but, I always advise a good concrete sealer at minimum. I use a wax based sealer that is very dangerous when wet FYI. My concrete is nearly 10 years old and stain free other than a few burns from welds.

Would think it's too late to help, must be applied at construction time. Don

To mitigate oily stains I use some oil dry and repeatedly grind it into the surface with a brick or a small 2x4 block until it is dust. It helps some, but never seems to get it completely erased. IDK, that I have ever tried it on any tire marks, but those don't seem to be very prominent on my floor for me to have need to clean.
