In the owner's manual for the CT4V-BW, it says the following:
"Have the transmission fluid set to the track specific oil level prior to track usage. Transmission fluid should be changed after every 15 hours of track usage. Any transmission level set or change should be performed at the dealer."
Through the summer, I would like to do 1 or 2 events a month, and use this car as my daily driver. I asked the dealership if I could have the transmission fluid set to the track level, and leave it there permanently, and they said that I should not do that. I'm going to ask them again this week about how long I could safely leave it at the track level. If it can be there for 2 or 3 months, I'm still covered.
If the official word is that I need a dealership visit before and after every track day, that would be pretty disappointing. I bought the car with the hope of doing more track days, and needing this would limit my ability to do that. But, I also don't want to risk serious transmission issues.
Has anyone else had these level changes done? Even better, has anyone heard any official word on the risk or concerns of operating at the track level? Or for that matter, the risk of running on track with the standard fluid level?
Thanks for any input you may have.
