Blackwings and Watches

Grilling steaks is good enough reason to buy another watch in my opinion. Happy Grilling :)
No watch was used / needed in the grilling of these steaks. Meater - The Best Selling Smart Meat Thermometer

They look fantastic. At least you didn't sous vide them :)

I made a T-bone last night for dinner on the Weber grill and felt compelled to take a picture also! I was so impressed with my grill marks.

That is a beautiful porterhouse. I wish my local grocer stocked them. They always have prime steaks, and even have Wagyu sometime. But it is hilarious and ridiculous that the "Wagyu" is often less marbled than the prime. I can't imagine anyone paying double for it.........

Recently ate at a very nice restaurant called "The Halston", here on Long Island. They had a porterhouse for 2 listed at $152. I cannot see myself spending that kind of money on a steak.
***Funny how this thread went from watches to steaks !

Its all just entertainment. :)

But your point is excellent. My theory is that people are too worried about ruining an expensive cut when cooking it themselves to ever learn how. Otherwise, steaks are the absolutely perfect meal to cook at home. Its easy and has nearly zero clean-up. And you get same or better quality meal for a tiny fraction of the price.

Prime steak at my local grocer is about $20. Nice bottle of wine is $30 (instead of 90-120 at the restaurant), so I can feed my whole family a luxury meal for what 1 person would spend at a steakhouse.

But same is generally true for anything else at a restaurant. Steaks are just so easy and quick.

I bought a "replica" Rolex Pepsi in Aruba a few weeks ago for $300. It never made it to NY. Someone from TSA or American Airlines stole it out of my locked checked baggage. They did leave me the empty fake box. That was nice of them.
You should claim it. On my honeymoon Aer Lingus stole a $150 bottle of Redbreast from me along with the whole bag, it was supposedly misplaced.

Tenth of a second chrono is less practical for cooking steaks but could time 0-60 runs if we didn’t already have that feature on board and if I was coordinated enough to operate a chronograph while shifting flat out (I’m not).

Come to think of it, maybe it’s not very practical at all - oh well, just looks cool when it’s running!

I get the regular emails from Zenith. Love their watches and wish they would bring back the A386 (the 12 hour chronograph) with the 3 different color sub-registers.

But I don’t see any steaks in your picture. Waiting for someone to combine a picture with the Blackwing, a watch, and a steak. Extra credit if there is whiskey and cigars as well. That’s a lot to manage while driving, but confident someone can figure it out.

Is that the 1/10 second El Primero ? I think that is the coolest chrono. That was a very close 2nd when I got the Damasco. Rounding the dial every 10 seconds would be worth it to wear readers :)

I took this pic as a goof a few years ago in my V3. Been wearing Swatches since the 80s. I don’t really wear this one much, I have a Shinola for a daily. I had a Monaco but I sold it. A Milgauss is my grail watch.

As @Tall Steve recently said, I’d like to start a collection to give to my son someday. I almost got an automatic Seiko for Xmas but I got some CF mirror caps instead 🤷🏻‍♂️
You got a pick of the Milgauss. I’ve been looking to get one but the prices have gone crazy over the last couple years. Give me my Engineer watch!
