As mfcentex stated, check connections first. Grounds and signal path. Photos and/or a description of components used would be helpful. If those avenues don't alleviate the noise, there's a couple more options for the ANC bypass.
Finding a 12V switched power source isn't necessary with the LC2i. It senses the signal from the t-tapped factory woofer. I did however run a remote wire from the LC2i to the amp.
I haven't noticed ANC interference, so I guess there isn't much to report. I still need to do some fine tuning of the LC2i. But I'm rather pleased with the sum of all components. One day I'll get around to sharing a few photos.
This is about the simplest install one could wish for. Used t-taps for signal source from the rear shelf factory woofer. I have a ANC bypass harness....not sure if it would actually work. It's not in place right now. After accumulating some seat time I'll determine if ANC is problematic.
But...
After a year of waiting to install my collection of goodies, I've finally mustered the time and effort.
4BW. Infinity Kappa 10" sealed and JL Audio RD500/1 with LC2i. Hope to have it wrapped up in a day or two. Really looking forward to some extra low-register grunt. ANC work around TBD.
Welcome! I too left behind a GT2 RWD. Absolutely loved the car after a full compliment of bolt-ons and such. Unfortunately it was lost due the actions of another motorist. Had been eyeing the 4BW since they were announced....and the stars seemed to align. I do miss the hatch and overall interior...
No real update to provide for a possible 4BW exhaust from Billy Boat. Waiting for a reply from the man himself to see if he's interested in moving forward. Just wanted to inform the group that I'm still seeking an answer either way.
Exact specs that Apex stated in this thread. EC7 18x9 ET31 black, 18x9.5 ET35 black. Wanted anthracite but couldn't exercise patience with the backorder status.
Just ordered a set of EC7s today for winter duty. Stock size with close enough to stock ET. Couple thin spacers for the front and hub rings all around. Thanks again for being helpful, Apex!
That's an answer that I don't have. Once the car is the air, I would think between measurements, mock-up, fabrication and fitting, that the process would go fairly quick. I would go ahead and assume that the shop would create jigs or something else in order to produce the same components with a...
Update: met briefly with Mr. Boat this morning to look over the 4BW and discuss a few details. Seems promising that they may move forward and eventually offer something for owners of this platform.
I'm touching base with him in a few weeks, after he has had time to consider options. Will...
I should have a good tomorrow what BBE has in mind. Offering a vehicle as a test bed for potential production parts is new to me. Interested to see how this shakes out and how my own input factors in.
Meeting with him and the fabrication team on Sep 1st. Yep they're a giant in Vette world. I believe they've offered systems for previous V cars as well. I've had a full turbo-back setup from BB on my VW for many years and I still love it.
