I would say it's the perfect daily for a car guy. It's super tame when needed, and plenty of fun when you want it. Also easy to park and just enough ground clearance to get in and out of all places without having to worry. The tires have just enough sidewall to work through the bumps without...
It is possible. They would have to design a gate or a solenoid that would slide into place to keep from being able to shift into the wrong gear above a certain RPM. Kind of like the 1-4 shift that we all hated. It would just work in the opposite way under different parameters.
Most car enthusiasts like BW owners would not like this type of arrangement, however there are a lot of luxury car owners that really do. The nice part is that as the customer, it really is your choice.
Dealers are now required to plug into your vehicle for any warranty work and GM is always looking for a reason not to pay a claim. Be super careful if you don't want to void the powertrain portion of your warranty. There are many cases of manufactures voiding a warranty for tuners.
Right now, I have a set of Flowmaster Super 10s on the car. We eliminated the valves as I run with it the loudest all the time. With that setup it is definitely louder, throatier, and the pops are really raspy. You can also feel the exhaust as it rumbles. I would describe it as rowdy. The pops...
If you need the actual paper one, the original dealer can order a new one through the Global Connect system, under Bars Reprint Fuel Label. It will be mailed to them in a big yellow envelope. Can take up to a month. Usually if the vehicle was dealer traded in, they might have to contact the...
Here is a picture of the valve in place and then removed. There is a coil spring that goes between the electric motor and the mechanical part of the valve. The spring is not shown in the picture. It seems that the spring is designed to keep tension on the valve, so it doesn't rattle. This is on...
The different settings also change the fuel program along with the exhaust muffler valves. We eliminated the valves and removed the stock muffler and replaced it with race mufflers. So with the exhaust valves totally out of the equation it sounds different in the different settings. The most...
Unless you really enjoy using the sunroof, I would pass. I've seen too many of them leak due to the tiny drains getting clogged. I think a lot of people would reconsider getting one if they saw how they actually work. The water doesn't stay on the outside of the car. Some of it drains into a...
On this specific topic the 4 BW and the 5 BW act totally different. The 5 is much more of a handful. As you start experimenting with some tire spinning slides, remember that the car will react differently on different roads, so try and get a feel on the same surface so you can learn...
I’ve seen the guys hook up a monitor that records data as you drive, which they use to diagnose those intermittent problems. Not sure if it works on a Blackwing, but worth asking about.
The usual procedure for a difficult repair is for the technician to work with an engineer at GM by phone. If...
I always find it funny how common it is that the "system" won't retain the info needed for a normal repair. We all know that the "system" would sure retain the info if it was related to extra boost added from let's say a smaller blower pully.
Those are what I was thinking until I read that they are really bad unless heated up.
Does anyone have experience with the 305/35/19 from Nitto or MT? Is the 30 vs 35 really an issue? The specs show the overall diameter to be approx. 1 in taller than stock size.
