While there's always a chance for the 9th gen car, the engineering for the 8th gen car is done. There won't be any "surprise" manual transmissions in the C8. It's "stuck" with the current Tremec DCT box.
If this is about "hooning" then you don't need to worry about PTM. It's clear you don't understand what the system is for. Instead of asking about it, you're taking an attitude.
Enjoy your car in the ditch.
No they won't. Not PTM. PTM makes fast drivers faster. GM drivers will outdrive anyone on this board all day, every day, and they're faster with PTM on, on the track. It wasn't tested against amateur drivers, it was tested against GM's best.
With a new transmission, you should assume that your 500 mile break-in period has been reset. It won't show that on your tach, that'll still open up at 500 miles suggesting that you can rev out to 6500RPMs. But the break-in period is for your transmission and diff, not the engine. So with the...
One of my weaknesses is spatial awareness. This meaning: knowing where your extremeties are in space around you at all times. This relatively poor spatial awareness means that I'm unable to have nice watches. Nothing fancy or the like. I am constantly going around corners or through doorways...
Dustin from Sewell confirmed for me that several of his '26 customers have complained about the same thing. Working as designed, and in this case the design sucks. One more thing to disable every single time I get into the car.
I do, but that shouldn't matter as far as the owners manual is concerned. It's not even mentioned at all in the '25 and beyond OM. So it looks like it was, in fact, just wholey deleted from the car.
It doesn't seem to matter whether I start the car with the belts already on or not. Was that snippet you clipped from your OM? My '26 OM says nothing about automatic tightening. I wonder if they just deleted for '25 or '26.
Here's another interesting one, less an annoyance and more of a question: I went for a ride in someone else's '22 5BW today so he could compare it with the Precision Pack on mine. I was reminded of my '23 when he started moving his car and the seat belts tightened up a bit. My '26 doesn't do...
That part is incorrect. Please refer to the specific statute on the matter in VA.
So you can have it, it just can't be powered or anywhere near a power source.
It's been attempted and has failed. In VA and WashDC, detectors are still illegal.
I wouldn't want to bet my driving record on that. I'm pretty sure you're 100% incorrect with that statement.
It's called the Spectre2, and Dr. Mike could never get his hands on one to figure out how it would detect his V1. The state trooper that pulled me over (for having the detector) showed it to me. With a grin on his face he said, "Where's your detector?" Busted.
He was too interested in my ZR1...
Yes but if the hood is popped, you can ... open it further and slap a set of jumper cables on it. Right? :)
Both my car and truck sit with tenders on them, even if it's just overnight. GM cars "wake up" too frequently when I walk by them (in the house). So keeping a tender on them is...
I can't use Blendmounts even as nice as they are. Detectors are illegal in VA so mine has to stay as tucked in and out of sight as possible. Blends hang the detectors out for everyone to see, very, very easily.
<snobby voice> You suhh are a lifesaver! </snob>
Seriously, thanks much for that. I'm so inexperienced with using the V1 app on my phone, I hadn't even realized that stuff was there. Bam. No more (false) Ka's in my car.
