How much of that noise is fake?

I ordered that one. Ordered April 30th and shipped May 5th. They did send an email letting me know when it would be going out. Overall the customer service was good and it got to me within a reasonable amount of time and the product does work.

When Do You Change Your Oil?

Hardly bulletproof. AFM/DoD/DFM failures since 2014. Plus we're seeing some engines eat themselves. There's a few threads already on 5BW engine failures on this very forum. Everyone makes junk these days, including Toyota/Lexus.

    Underwhelming A/C

When you say tinted windows, are they ceramic? And what level of heat rejection? I always get the highest heat rejection offered. Also have a windshield sunshade and the top 1/3 of my windshield is also tinted. Here in Texas, my 4BW will cool the cabin down pretty nicely. Try this: When first...

What do you do for a living?

32, Software engineer here. 4BW was one of my last hoorahs of stupidly spending my money before I got a house. I wfh so I barely drive either of my cars (daily is a '23 A4). How I ended up with 2 sedans is beyond me. Did I mention I stupidly spend my money? 😁

Absolute Dearth of All-Season Tires for CT5-V Blackwing

Continental ECS02. Similar performance, cheaper price, a bit quieter on the highway although they're still not quiet lol. I run 305 rear and 275 front on my 4BW. The new Pirelli PZ5 came out but it's not available in a lot of sizes yet. That's the new #1 summer tire.

    Subwoofer Install

Hey guys, installed the LLJ Customs bypass on my CT4 BW. No more ESE and didn't notice a significant difference in road noise on the highway. Audio shop took 30-45 mins and charged $50. So worth it. Got rid of the damn interior buzz around 2000-2500rpm. Also they mentioned they can install an...

    Subwoofer Install

I'm fairly certain looking at previous posts in this thread. Also on most other cars, they're tied together as well (Ford, Toyota, Nissan, etc). If it doesn't, oh well, I tried lol.

    Subwoofer Install

Getting the LLJ bypass harness installed next weekend at an audio shop that has experience with ANC. They said they can either unplug at the amp, disconnect the microphones, or use a bypass. They've had success with all 3 depending on the car. If it works, I'll be joyful to get rid of the ESE...

[Now Available] AWE SwitchPath™ Exhaust for the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing

Are there any plans for a valve bypass or valveless design in the future? I know for my old 340i AWE catback, there was a place to mount the OEM valve but it wasn't connected to anything so rendered it useless but the car wasn't complaining. Wonder if a similar strategy could be deployed here.

    Engine Failure

Our Lexus RX350's engine just blew up with only 77k miles. Religious oil changes done every 5k miles. Mechanic said he's seen 2 of the same thing happen to the 3.5V6 2GR engines. So yeah, Toyota/Lexus is not impervious. But GM V8's are having a bad time right now. Wouldn't touch one at the moment.

    Door Handle

I've got some loose door handles. I may give this a shot. To clarify, remove the rubber cap, then tighten the T25 torx? Or does the whole door handle need to come off to tighten it down? Thanks!

Hide sliders when hitting Vmode switch?

There is. Should be under the driver mode customization settings under Vehicle.

    CT4BW vs. BMW M2 (F87, 2016-2018)

Supra weighs 3330lbs, M2C probably 3500-ish. The power between the two is about 20-40whp, not a huge gap. So sounds about right given power to weight ratios, assuming both are untuned. Also comparing N55-based S55 with newer B-series modular engines. S55 has dual HPFP, better cooling, higher...

    CT4BW vs. BMW M2 (F87, 2016-2018)

M2 never got the B58, it got an upgraded N55 until the M2C came out (S55), now the S58. And BMW has a long history of putting non-S engines in M cars. If it was only about the engine, our CT4 Blackwings would be DOA because the LF4 is just an adequate powerplant.

    CT5BW Question about lugging engine

If you've got some time to kill, I'd read up on gear ratios. The shorter the gear ratio (both final: ((rear diff)) and specific gear), the more acceleration. Revs will always climb faster in lower gears given the same throttle input. Here's a screenshot of the ratios from Car and Driver. You'll...

    CT5BW Question about lugging engine

6th is for highway cruising. Light throttle only until the revs come up. Yes, lugging is not great for the engine. That's what downshifting is for (and really part of the joy of owning a manual: rowing gears). There are a lot of articles around engine lugging, LSPI, etc. Basically high load with...

Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

BMW's newer motors run lean and hot (230-240F is operating temp). My B58 ran lean. Lean + hot = more efficient. But also other companies spend a lot of money on engine R&D, whereas the LF4 is really just a souped up LFX.

When Do You Change Your Oil?

If yours is a 4BW with CF1 front splitter, you're gonna need the extensions as well.

About to Order, Engine Failure Questions

My personal opinion, I wouldn't touch a GM V8. They're failing so often that GM can't even warranty them. As far as 5BW's, there are a few that have eaten themselves. There's still all the AFM/DoD hardware inside even if the mode isn't activated. Couple that with main bearing issues. Hell even...
