Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

It appears that high speed events are 80MPH. Oops. As noted on page 4, the new York times has picked up on this. I have "gifted" you all the article. Automakers Are Sharing Consumers’ Driving Behavior With Insurance Companies

    Hello lads. New ct4v BW

Congrats and welcome to the club, turtle! You will find that there are quite a few of us that came from BMW, especially M cars (G82 for me). No regrets!

Front Seat Covers, Car Cover, PPF wrap for new CT5-V BW

LOL, your bad attitude is showing. ;) I should have written "rock chips".

Questions from an overthinking/over prepared engineer impatiently waiting his Ct4-V B.W.

I haven't measured my ramps, but they're pretty standard (i.e. short) units. Nothing clears them, but a couple of 2x4s (or one 2x8) to extend them works fine on BW, Corvette, etc.

What does engine/shift adjustment do for the transmission in a manual?

There is no "engine/shift" adjustment that I'm aware of. The "engine" setting for the modifiable modes just affects the throttle. It does not change the amount of power.

My quick BW story up until now...

It wasn't what you wanted, but was it what you had last asked for? Is all kind of confusing.

Front Seat Covers, Car Cover, PPF wrap for new CT5-V BW

PPF is best done when the car is new and has no paint damage.

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

Hard to blame l-n for this, it's so GM's fault. I also opted out, but found recent data in the report.

    Spring Mountain Impressions

We shared corvettes back when I did it, pre-pandemic.

    2023 CT5 Blackwing engine failure

21K miles in 10 months, yeah baby, drive it! Best of luck, hopefully it's nothing too serious.

    Spring Mountain Impressions

We got married in NYC and honeymooned a year later in London. As @Roadhawk wrote, London is pretty cool, a different vibe than NYC and isn't as bad/dangerous as many make it out to be. I will confess though that I found the food to be generally lousy, as expected, and got a bit of food...

    Spring Mountain Impressions

I concur, hanging out at the track if not driving would be a big snooze. It's a nice facility, the clubhouse (where they serve meals) is nice but there's not much to do, I don't know what the cost is for using the range. I suppose you'd have to rent the gun(s) since it's unlikely that you'll...

Front Seat Covers, Car Cover, PPF wrap for new CT5-V BW

LOL, I did new car wash & prep back in the 70s. All we had was gasoline to clean up the sloppy assembly (it was a Ford dealer) and cotton towels for wiping it down. Actually, I never did delivery prep, that was reserved for the senior staff, so I'm not sure what he did to "polish" the car...

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

Full disclosure: I work for an insurance company. I am not an agent, I will not try to sell you anything. Insurance laws vary between states, so keep that in mind. It would scare most of you guys and gals if you knew how much information was out there and how many companies exist soley to...

    CT4-V Cross shop C8 Corvette?

Like so many here, the C8 never made it onto my "gotta get me one of those" list because of the missing pedal. I do, however, recognize that the Corvette is and remains the best bang-for-the-buck performance cars available. Which is why I bought a slightly used C6. The upside of Corvettes is...

    Used Value Trend

So... yesterday driving into work, some bozo nearly ran into me and it got me thinking, what would I do if my precious baby was in an accident? It's still difficult to find these things new, but what about when they stop making them? So for S&G I looked for used ones on CarGurus. There are...

    Floor jack for ct5v blackwing

I think we all have an eventual goal of a two post lift. Most of us just don't have the space. The rest of us don't have the money. ;) I've always thought that jack stands were the safest way to keep a car up, although I think a solid set of ramps is equally safe, but can make it difficult to...

Looking at a new CT4-V Blacking - Anyone bought one recently?

Congrats on the new car and the excellent deal! It looks striking, that is surely a unique color. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it in the parking lot.

    5BW daily driver

I DD my BW, I average 19/20 MPG (lifetime is around 18.3) although I've noticed that if I get into it a bit (to, uh, merge safely onto the highway) the average drops quite quickly! It is the perfect car for me. Comfortable, powerful, very safe handling and excellent brakes. I almost got into...
