Agree to disagree, there's literally 30-40K of these engines out there in various platforms and we only know of a few failures here on this forum and there have been some in the 2017-2018 Camaro ZL1 because of a known oil pump issue which is also avoidable if the oil pump was replaced under...
The thing is, this engine has been used since 2015 and there's been very few failures across all product lines. I doubt Cadillac did anything significant to this engine from what Chevrolet did in the C7 Corvette Z06 and 6th Gen Camaro ZL1, and even the previous Cadillac CTS-V. Its been an...
I still believe the failure rate is stupendously low for these engines but it appears at least based on this thread that vast majority were 2022-2023 cars. Makes you wonder if there weren't some minor changes in the 24-up cars or if there was a bad batch of engine parts in a small number of cars.
I don't think the engine is going to fail any sooner because it uses oil, however I would find it very annoying to have to keep checking the oil constantly and adding oil knowing that I shouldn't have to.
My PPF guy said he would rather install PPF when pieces are on the vehicle than off. I'm sure its because its difficult to hold the pieces in place while applying the PPF. I had tried to take him a CF rear spoiler and front splitter and he told me to install them first.
My 2024 CT5-V BW has 11K miles and doesn't use any oil at all. While GM might consider some oil usage normal, all that tells me that they're allowing for some manufacturing intolerances or improper break-in by the owner so they don't have to warranty every engine that uses any oil. A properly...
It would have to be an LS6 variant, not the LS6 as it currently stands. The current LS6 doesn't make enough power to replace the LT4 that the current CT5-V Blackwing has now and the LS6 has 13:1 compression so you can't add a supercharger or turbos.
If you remove the tray, water will run off right on top of the accessory belt. Since I have a JLT intake, it would also partially run right on top of the air filter too. It's certainly something you probably wouldn't leave off all the time if you ever drive in the rain or when you wash the car...
It's worth trying the valve re-learn procedure for sure but you've also got me thinking you might have an issue with your wiring to the motors or the motors themselves might be going bad.
It doesn't do this because it needs backpressure. The ECM has pre-programmed throttle maps based on which gear you're in and which mode you're in, that opens and closes the valves.
The heat shield is required to be installed for warranty purposes and honestly, it works VERY well. I left my carbon fiber exposed on the underside although it's nothing special to look at. I don't love the silver bolts used to hold the rain tray so I replaced mine with these, makes for quicker...
I don't like Uniden's, they do work well but they give WAY too many false alarms, I returned an R7 and R8 because of this. I have been using Escort Max 360c for 6 years now, I have one of these in all 4 vehicles we own. 2 Max 360c's and 2 Max 360c Mk II's. Never had a ticket using Escort and...
