    Bad brake pad wear

What would cause the brake pads to wear this way? These are the pads that came from factory. Referring to the missing material on the corners opposite of the pin inserts.

    CT4-V Brake Question

...until the next brake change. With this in mind, if my rotors are within spec (going to get it looked at this week), I was wondering what brake pads to get? OEM ones seem quite expensive and hard to come by. I don’t want to compromise stopping power so I understand if I must go with OEM but...

CT5-V Reset brake pad life sensor

A few days ago i started getting a message on the DIC that says my brake pads have been replaced and would i like to reset the pad life? Its a yes or no question so i tell it "no" with a check mark and it keeps popping back up. My car is a 23 with 24k miles - i have not replaced the pads nor...

    CT4-V Brake Vibration

...I use brake cleaner and scrub the rotors, and then do some hard braking, it dramatically improves. I really believe it's a behavior of the brake pads. When I go out and actually drive the car hard and burn up the brakes (I get on a back road and brake from 60-25 a few times) it improves. For...

    2026 HPDE Season Kickoff

At AMP (Atlanta Motorsport Park), I experienced significant brake fade after about 45 minutes of intense lapping. Along with changing the brake fluid, I wanted to change the stock pads for my next HPDE event. Just wondering what anyone tried… I’ll repeat this question during the upcoming Tech...

    CT4-V Brake Vibration

I have had this issue since 10k miles (25k now). I bought the car new. Some folks on here have said that it’s due to not braking hard enough. That’s certainly not me as I definitely generally brake a bit harder than one probably should on the street and the car does see some lapping time. I’ve...

In case anyone is searching for the CCB front brake pads, GM has an updated part number. Old: 85143795 New: 86804586 Still made by Pagid. You can tell them apart by the numbers on the back. Old pads are N22 and new pads are N23. Price has just about doubled.

    CT4-V Non OEM brake pads

I want to change the brake pads as the dust is crazy. When going to a pad that doesn't have the sensor, is there a light on the dash that comes on? If so, does it stay on? Probably going to go with Power Stop Z23-405 and Z26-1053 as I believe these will fit correctly but no sensor. Any help...

CT5-V What are the torque specs for the front and rear brake caliper mounting bolts?

I'm in the process of installing carbon ceramic brake rotors and pads on my 2023 5BW. I've ordered replacement caliper mounting bolts, since they are single-use, torque-to-yield. 11570092 - Front Disc Brake Caliper Bolt 11610905 - Disc Brake Caliper Bracket Mounting Bolt I haven't been able to...

    CT5-BW Brake Wear

...wear quicker on these type of cars because of how the drivers "beat" on them. First of all, I don't "beat" on my car and I think he was just trying to upsell me on brake pads. **** When it is time for brake pads, are the GM stock pads any good or should I look for something better ? Thanks.

CT5-V Installed aftermarket carbon ceramic brakes on 5BW, pictures and impressions

...things I've noticed. There is a kind of "groaning" from the brakes under light pedal pressure at low speed. I suspect it's because the brake pads have a sharp, 90-degree leading and trailing edge, instead of a tapered-at-45-degrees leading and trailing edge like the factory iron pads. Or...

Like everything else, brake pads have gone up in price dramatically over the last few years. I would ask Ken at KNS Brakes what he would recommend for your use case.

CT4-V Is this a good price?

I think this a fair price even with the miles. As for collectabilty....only time will tell. I have 39/99 with 10k miles on it 2k being track miles at the Watkins Glen/Lime Rock. Other than tires/brake pads it's held up well.

    CT5V BE Warped Brake Rotors

Some pads are not recommended to be bedded aggressively. I replaced the OEM pads on my 5BW with Carbotech 1521s and was specifically told not to bed them. The recommendation was to just drive normally for the first 300 miles. Aggressive bedding on those pads can glaze the compound and actually...

    CT4-V Brake Question

I'm using Porterfield AP2444 R4 pads and am very happy with them. These are supposedly a "track only" pad, but I find them to be fine on the street. They're a $359 pad, but not what I would recommend. I'm setup now for track days. You would use the AP2444 R4-S pads for $199. Replace your...
