I took my 22' 5BW into my wrap shop to get black gloss PPF installed on the roof. The installer called me today to say that there was "good news/ bad news". The bad news was that the PPF that was delivered had a blemish in the whole roll of material and can't be used. The good news was, that...
I don't care what anybody says. I have ALWAYS done a break in oil change on my new cars at about 1000-1500 miles. I used my free 1st oil change to do it. Its cheap insurance. Every engine builder that I have ever known does it too.
My 2022 5BW/auto has only 6800 miles on her in just over 3...
I would definitely have some front end protection on a drive from Texas to Arizona. You don't want to be getting stone chips and God knows what else, bouncing off your front end.
I had my rockers, deck lid spoiler, front chin spoiler and a few other pieces wrapped in carbon fiber. Looks just like the real deal and saved me thousands of dollars and no worrying about possible damage to real carbon fiber. Did some interior parts in CF also.
I was going to buy a QJ and have decided against it. First, I don't even have a garage. I have bought a Harbor Freight 3ton hydraulic jack and 4 3ton jack stands. I did just recently use them to rotate my Jeep Grand Cherokee tires. It was a PITA because the Jeep was just high enough to not...
Good to know. I have an appointment to have my white 5BW installed with gloss black PPF on the roof only. The detailer told me that he will have to check to see how to remove the shark fin antenna. Some GM's have different ways of removing the antenna. He also said that PPF is a pain in the...
I must be getting really old. I bought my 22' 5BW and will do absolutely nothing to it. To me , its perfect right out of the box. I have found in my years of owning cars.....the more you eff with them, the more headaches you get.
I just cold called a bunch of dealers and whoever sent me the lowest quote got my credit card. macMulkin said that they go for the volume , not the high prices that others charge. My local dealer wanted 2 grand more than everyone else. They got greedy and lost a sale.
I got an quote of $850 to do a gloss PPF on the roof. The antenna has to be done in a wrap materiel because of all the contours. After seeing the photo, I will most likely do it.
I had my copy signed at our local car show. Andrew is a a member of the Tri-State Chapter and is a plethora of "V" knowledge. He said that he may have to do an updated second edition because the book was finished a few years ago and they are still making different styles .
Good thing I have absolutely no idea what you guys are talking about. I get in, push the start button and drive away. By the time I figure out some of the bells and whistles.....I park the car for 6 months during the winter and soon forget all the cool stuff that this car is capable of. I'm...
A touch up is NOT going to look good. That is down to the black plastic and needs to be sanded and spot painted. I thought that $2k sounded a bit much. Its an easy color and should only take a day at a reputable shop. Don't go cheap. The poor man pays twice.
Agree with the PDR guy first. You may be pleasantly surprised. This is why I will NEVER own a black car. A small dent looks like it was hit with a 20 pound sledge hammer. White hides everything.
