Did you do or are doing V academy

Interesting to me at least, the window sticker of a 2025 CT4 in the registry thread also shows engine made in USA and 6-speed trans in Mexico. My 2022 CT4 has the engine made in Austria and the 6 speed in USA.

Parking sensor cover/cap replacement part ?

I have some pics from my carbon dive plane upgrade. That sensor is on the face of the inner bumper structure, so you not only have to remove the entire bumper, you'll have to separate that inner structure. I wish I had taken pics of the inner structure when I had that apart, but you can see the...

    Brake pad install questions

I just did mine using the Powerstop Z26. I would also suggest reusing the original pins if you're doing the same. The rear pins just were slightly fatter and shorter and didn't want to go in nicely. If the original pins are in good shape, clean them and reuse them all. I took extra time cleaning...

    CT4-V Frustration with build quality

If you're going to replace the throttle body, you might consider the ported one from Tapout Gigs Performance Ported Throttle Body* - Tapout Tuning Roadhawk seems to like his. I haven't installed mine yet but soon. Even if you go stock, they have instructions on that product page.

    Apex Wheels for CT4-V Blackwing

If you haven't installed those pads yet, I suggest cleaning and reusing the OEM pins on the rear. I bought the 1405/1053 combo, and they fit fine except the pins on the rear seem a hair short and they are fatter and hard to drive in. The OEM pins went back easily and still firmly in place. I...

Factory carbon cars - how is your carbon fading?

I've mentioned before and I point it out again here, we had a Cadillac club meet at a local dealer in 2023 and they had a brand new 2023 Road Atlanta edition and the carbon on it was gray tinted unlike every other factory car I've seen. They may have been changing vendors at the time, or using...

Pics of your Blackwing in regular parking spots

Only thing that '79 Z is missing is T-Tops. Period correct tires too. I ran those on my '75 Camaro.

    Apex Wheels for CT4-V Blackwing

Are you certain about the 1718? It sounds like the 1053 is the correct one for the rear. 2023 Brake Upgrades?

Additional Carbon Fiber Pieces to Match OEM

When I got some Tapout nose parts, they didn't match the OEM color. I ended up going all OEM for the nose where they meet up against each other, and Tapout for the rear spoiler. You can see the wheel deflector (Tapout) against the splitter and dive planes in the bottom photo here Carbon fiber PN...

    Door Handle

I checked mine. Seems like a Torx T25 fits.

    Interesting test of JB4

Since I live just up the road from Tapout, have been to their shop many times and met all the staff, I would also recommend them wholeheartedly. If you're a member of the Cadillac V Club you also qualify for a discount since they are a gold level sponsor. I keep forgetting to mention that...

2024 CT5-V BW: Removal & Installation of Hood and Front Splitter?

For the CT5 splitter, there are some discussions on it here: https://www.cadillacvnet.com/forums/threads/carbon-fiber-pn-database.2709/post-59001 https://www.cadillacvnet.com/forums/threads/carbon-fiber-pn-database.2709/post-64413 It should be a similar process as the CT4, and you can start...

Summer tires in cold weather ?

Drive carefully. You can break traction in a blink of an eye with the OEM tires in colder weather, especially if damp or wet pavement.

    Tire/wheel (basic) question

Any reasonably light aftermarket wheels would weigh less than OEM even if a bit larger. The OEM standard front wheel on the CT4 BW is 25.2 lbs, but the Apex VS-5RS in the same size is 17.9 lbs. The rear is 18.2 lbs. For a given wheel/tire combo, if the tire profile is reduced when the wheel is...

Summer tires in cold weather ?

I'm the same as Super Saloon, OEM Michelins on Apex wheels, AS Falken 460s on the OEM wheels for cold season (never snow). If you have space problems, clean the wheels and tires as you take them off, stack them two high in your living room and get a nice piece of glass cut to lay across the...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

It would be inconvenient for a daily use car, but it's not a big deal for a car that's driven occasionally. Press a button or pull a lever and it's up or down in about a minute. If you have a car in the driveway you still have to play the car shuffle to get one out of the garage. BTW, the price...

CT5-V Dumb Question: Lug Nut Part Number?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I am ordering a spare set for my 2022 4BW. When I looked them up on the Cadillac Accessories page, it lists PN 85553528. So then I searched all the online sources to get the discounted prices, every one comes back with that PN as Does not fit your vehicle. So...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Three cars with a two car garage? Two words: Stack them! (BTW, that's just an image from a Youtube video, but I did just install mine of the same model. Can't park under it yet waiting to do the high lift garage door mod. $3029 and picked up at the local warehouse)

CT4V BW ordered - what to expect at dealer?

If you have any dealer installed options (black mirror caps, premium floormats, so on) make sure they also give you the original parts (painted mirror caps, standard floor mats). My car also had the black lug nuts and I didn't get the chrome ones, but others have said they got the original...

CT5-V 2025 CT5 Blackwings - have your dealer check oil plug on the front of the engine (Service Bulletin attached)

Seems like a threaded plug vs. a pressed in one would have made more sense for such a critical part. Looks similar to a freeze plug in an engine block and those stay in place fairly well. But still, it's an expensive engine and a few cents more to keep the oil inside the engine is a pretty...
