Now that actually makes pretty good sense.
If I wanted to track my 5BW, doing what you describe might just make my buy the PP.
I guess I didn’t think of that since I don’t intend to track my BW (I have dedicated track toys for that).
You’d need to add in a dedicated set of wheels, too, of course…
I think you’re missing the point. The R compounds are fundamental to taking advantage of the rest of the suspension tuning.
Softer sidewall, deeper tread street tires aren’t going to allow you to use the rest of the suspension settings to their potential.
Heck, R compounds alone on a non-PP...
R compound tires have to be contributing a whole lot to the overall improvement.
The problem I have with that is paying $9k more over the CCBs and then feeling obligated to keep the R compounds on the car to get the full effect.
Then I’d be terrified to drive in the rain or cold, or take a...
Bear in mind that the ongoing cost to the handling improvement: R compound tires.
Such a massive compromise for a daily driver, unless you are in SoCal (and there isn't an "atmospheric river" in the neighborhood) and you don't have an issue replacing tires every 5k miles.
For what it’s worth, my second week of Jan build car, which was built but on delivery hold with no ETA, now has a last week of Feb scheduled delivery window.
No idea what originally put it on hold.
Currently an RS6 owner, and your assessment is spot on. Love looking at it, doesn't excite me when I drive it.
When the QV made its autoshow debut, I instantly fell in love, had a real lust for one in Montecarlo blue with fender shields, charcoal wheels, and yellow calipers. Was able to drive...
My 5BW is also on hold, ready for delivery. But my dealer can’t tell why. Perhaps for the same PDR reason.
How was your dealer able to find out the cause? I’ll try to get mine to do the same to see how widespread this issue may be.
My 5BW has been in "produced" status for the last two weeks, has been issued a VIN, but is being held at factory due to a missing component with no delivery ETA.
My dealer says they cannot determine what that component may be or when to expect the release.
Sound about right for the Goat...
The things you listed are not asterisked in that list, which means that they come on manual, too.
But if you don't have adaptive cruise, then that calls into question the accuracy of that list, regardless.
All the items with asterisks are not available on manual, all other features according to that list are available on manual.
So do you have adaptive cruise?
Not sure steering assist is the same thing as just the monitoring?
"Steering assist" suggests that the car will intervene automatically and steer back into your lane if it senses a car in the blind spot, like automatic braking when it senses a collision.
Are we 100% sure there isn't a buried...
Another car I wished I had kept, mine was a '93 black with a tan interior. Loved the hell out of it, especially that motor.
I remember my first time driving a VR6 and swore I had to have one in a Corrado and scored a low mileage used one a few months later.
Tried to relive my youth and buy a...
That surprised me too, so I just fully loaded one in the Audi US configurator and came up with around $163k before transport and taxes.
Base price on an RS6 is now $127k. That’s about what I paid for mine nicely optioned back in 2022. But now the RS6 is called the RS6 Performance and comes...
I had a similarly modded MT B5 S4 Avant back in the day and absolutely loved it.
Used to run it in Driver Education events with the Porsche Club and blow by them in the straights, with a Baby on Board sign in the back window just to piss them off (and it did!).
Have had a bunch of high...
I second that opinion, having owned an RS6 for the last few years.
Came from an AMG E63S wagon. The RS6 is soft and boring by comparison, despite the "specs".
Very comfortable daily driver, and long distance cruiser, but... boring.
The appearance though, that's where I never get tired...
So you’re saying that things are real tight in the rear wheel wells with the 335s, to the point where you’re uncomfortable with clearances? I’m starting to tee up my wheels and tires in anticipation of an early Feb delivery.
I’ve always been a Michelin fan, but wide 335 rear meats are tough...
