I thought the same thing. Between the wheels and no CF pieces, It’s one of the most unimpressive 5BWs I’ve seen. Certainly wouldn’t make me run to a Cadillac dealer to order one.
I completely agree. A car should not be leaking ANY fluids. It might be time to look for a different dealer. A small leak now could become a BIG leak as time goes on.
I
I’m against it. I think it’s hideously expensive for what you get. Replacing a piece of ppf is not cheap. I know this from experience having the ppf on the front splitter of my ZL1 replaced two years ago. I could have bought a new splitter for less money.
You really have to ask yourself...
While PPF will do a good job of protecting the paint underneath. if it gets hit with a big enough rock it will leave a mark in the PPF that will look just as ugly or uglier than a rock chip. It’s especially noticeable on black paint or trim. Until you get enough dings in the ppf to make it cost...
Check that your front sway bar end links haven’t worked themselves lose. This was an issue on some Camaro ZL1s. The end links weren’t tightened properly from the factory. The cars would make a clunking noise slowly going over bumps.
I think everyone has this misconception that for any modification GM has to be prove that it caused the failure to deny warranty. The keyword here is “Modification”. You install a Fram oil filter instead of an AC Delco and the oil pump goes out, then yes, GM has to prove that the Fram oil...
I’m not into my car sounding like a bunch of angry bees. I think the Cadillac team did a nice job balancing luxury with performance. The exhaust sound should be the main focus under load and not supercharger whine. But that’s me.
The PS4Ss are pretty good on wet roads. Set your drive mode to Snow/ICE to dull throttle tip-in and don’t do anything crazy and you’ll have no problems in the rain.
I’ve driven the PS4Ss in temps as low as 23 degrees. Not a single tire exhibited cracked rubber. You’ll be fine. Just take it easy until you get some heat in the tires. It may take a little awhile for that to happen. Check tire temps often on the DIC.
I don’t think it is so much about caring as it is a cost decision. Having to replace cracked tires from sitting in the lot at the Lansing Grand River plant during the winter months waiting for transport got to be too expensive. I believe it was around 2019 Chevy stopped producing ZL1s during...
I’ve paid to have three cars ppf’d and my 5BW was ppf’d by the previous owner.
There are some downsides to ppf. If a big enough rock hits the film in will leave an ugly blemish in the film that won’t self-heal. These blemishes will stand out and look particular bad on dark colored cars...
I wouldn’t be too concerned about the lien. Whoever originally purchased the car probably took out a loan to buy it. However, I would be more concerned the car was involved in an accident and had to be towed.
I would not do a pulley swap without tuning. The increased cylinder pressure from the added boost will require adjusting the spark table to prevent detonation. As others have said, you’ll also need to add cooling mods to control the heat and keep the ECM from pulling timing.
I would contact...
I have ordered OEM parts from https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ and Genuine OEM GM Parts and Accessories Online - GM Parts Giant.
What you have to watch out for when ordering OEM parts online is shipping cost. Most of the good online vendors will provide the option to check shipping cost before...
I had a 2013 Camaro ZL1 the got a nail in one of the rear Goodyear Super Car 2 tires. Discount Tire patched and plug the hole. Only way they would patch the tire. Drove on the tire two years without any issues.
Congrats on the new ride. As others have said, follow the manufacturer’s break in. Not only will this break in the engine and diff it will also help you get use to the car and what it is capable of doing.
It’s a damn fast car for its size so keep it under 4000 rpm until you reached the end of...
I love how Corvette owners are convinced it’s a small percentage of C8s with transmission issues.
My own C8 had zero transmission issues for the first two years of ownership. I even drove it twice from Florida to Ohio. But during year three and after 13,000 miles the transmission decided to...
Looks like I’m keeping my ‘23 M6 5BW forever. With limited range of motion with my neck, I rely on the blindspot sensors constantly.
I find them to be as accurate as the blindspot sensors were in my ‘17 ZL1. Where they are not very accurate is my C8 SR.
