Silicon levels are normally high in the beginning because of the sealants used for assembly and should progress to lower levels over time. If levels go up, then you have filtering issues.
I'm skeptical of flow that might be at the expense of filtration effectiveness. Ingestion of particulates is a major factor in engine oil contamination and subsequent wear. I'd need to see some filtration test comparison results if they are out there.
Yeah, it is just the red line indication only. It does not mean actual RPMs are actually limited. There are also steps of limited red line indications when the engine is cold.
There isn't any "unlock" at 500 miles that I know of (except for the tach redline change). And the misconception that 500 miles is the break-in, when it is really 1500.
I use a floor jack with slotted jack pads like ZL1 addons sells or similar. No issues. Not worried about paint on the pinch welds. They are barely painted anyway.

If you look closely on the side of the tank, below the cap, there is an embossed indicator with arrows pointing down to the seam as the level indicator. So, the seam. like you said. :) .
