IM Flash in Utah made NVM wafers until about 2 years ago. The facility still exists and I bet could be retooled to make silicon with some investment and desire. It's also just across the road from the NSA data center..

MSRP can easily be had on new orders. Whether the dealership gets an allocation or not is the question of most concern. I would ring the sales guy who verbally quoted MSRP and if you are both serious, place an order with him. Or call a few dealerships and check the waitlist, allocation...

i wonder if sitting around the lot for months pre-delivery has any negative consequence to the battery et al?

I went from EDD 2/26 and JCT status 'Picked' to no EDD and a JCT status 'On Hold'.. Score one for the goats.

Or you can get a '22 without CF and then trade it in for a '24 w. CF. At least that's my plan.

The CF constraint goes back at least as far as August. And if the CF wing ever becomes available as OEM or aftermarket, I'd like one too. Occasionally CF spec'd orders are picked, so if you're high on the list at your dealer and CF is a must; There's a long-shot chance it could still happen...
